Rap mogul T.I. Harris took back comments he made about distancing himself from controversial Australian rapper Iggy Azalea this week.
In an appearance on Hot 97's morning show, T.I. implied he and Azalea had parted ways, even though he still managed her music publishing.
T.I. told Ebro he hadn't spoken to Azalea in months, following her numerous highly publicized clashes with black celebrities, such as singer Azealia Banks and rapper Q-Tip.
But T.I. had a change of heart today. In a statement to the Associated Press, T.I. said, "That's still my partner. Her life has taken her in a different direction. My life is still as it was before. But Iggy is doing what she feels makes Iggy happy. That's what she should do. We're focused on making the next Iggy record and dodging the same adversities we faced last time."
T.I., who calls Azalea his "little sister," said strangely, "We speak to each other without having to speak to each other. It's funny sometimes, but we're straight."
After T.I.'s radio interview on Wednesday, Azalea took to social media to deny the allegations of a rift between herself and her former mentor.
She told the Global Grind blog "T.I. is still collecting publishing checks and acting like everything is normal between them.”
Maybe T.I. forgot about those checks?
