Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas of the pop group TLC filed a lawsuit against a Gwinnett County firm after the firm failed to deliver a Cadillac Escalade EXT as promised.
Thomas filed a $27,500 lawsuit against Atlanta Highline Consulting LLC, a car and truck brokerage firm owned by Joshua William Waddell on Sept. 18.
Court documents obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution shows Thomas wired Waddell $10,000 on Oct. 10, 2014 and $17,500 on Oct. 23, 2014 for a total of $27,500. But the vehicle was never delivered.
On April 2, 2015 Thomas demanded a full refund of the funds she paid Waddell, but she never received the money or the Escalade EXT which retails for over $82,000 fully loaded.
Efforts were being made to reach Thomas, Atlanta Highline Consulting, identified online as an automobile and truck brokerage firm, and Waddell for comment.
The Escalade EXT deal followed a similar one in August 2014 in which Thomas said she purchased another Escalade EXT for $25,375 from Atlanta Highline Consulting LLC and Waddell. She said there were no problems with that deal and the vehicle was delivered.
