The families of two men who died in a high speed car crash in England have released harrowing cell phone footage taken inside the car in the moments leading up to the crash.

The driver, Kyle Careford, 20, and his passenger Michael Owen, 21, were speeding in a Renault through darkened streets, passing cars at a high rate of speed and swerving to avoid oncoming traffic.

The death ride was filmed by the passenger, Owen, on his cell phone after the men had taken a cocktail of prescription pills and illegal drugs.

Owen, who was seated on the left passenger side, was sufficiently fearful for his life to repeatedly beg his friend to slow down.

“We’re doing 90!” shouted Careford as he careened through the streets. “Oh God. Slow down!” cried Owen.

The men died instantly when their car crashed into a church in Sussex, England.

The cell phone captured the eerie silence inside the wreckage as a woman outside the car asked, “Is anyone alive in there?”
