Former child actor Danny Pintauro revealed his HIV status to Oprah Winfrey, and to the world, during a recent episode of her show Oprah: Where Are They Now.

You may remember Pintauro as little Jonathan on TV sitcom Who’s the Boss, starring Judith Light and Tony Danza.

Now that Pintauro, 39, is back on the nation’s radar, he is being courted by national talk shows and publications such as Us Weekly and People magazine.

Although Pintauro admitted to being promiscuous, he didn’t go far enough to explain why he waited 12 years after his HIV diagnosis to reveal his HIV status.

Now that the national spotlight is shining brightly on him, Pintauro is attempting to clean up his public image by claiming he contracted HIV through oral sex.

The likelihood of contracting HIV via oral sex is on par with contracting HIV via a mosquito bite. I’m not saying it can’t happen, but it is not very likely that he contracted HIV through oral sex. Especially when you take his past history into consideration.

It is a well-known fact that Pintauro engaged in orgies and other high risk behaviors with men. There are social media photos floating around on the Internet of Pintauro busting it open during his wild child days. Disgusting photos that can’t be published on this family-oriented blog.

Spreading inaccuracies about HIV transmission doesn’t help in any way to mitigate the social stigma attached to HIV and AIDS.

It’s obvious how Pintauro contracted HIV. If he really wants to be taken seriously as the face of HIV for the gay community, maybe he should try being a little more honest.
