The Canadian Judicial Council is reviewing the improper conduct of a judge after he blamed a 19-year-old rape victim for not doing enough to prevent her rape.

The teenager accused her rapist of sexually assaulting her as she bent over a bathroom sink at a party in 2014.

Federal Court Justice Robin Camp, who presided over the rapist’s trial, asked the woman, “Why couldn’t you just keep your knees together?”

Camp continued to badger the rape victim during cross examination: “Why didn’t you just sink your bottom down into the basin so he couldn’t penetrate you?”

He also asked the victim why “she allowed the sex to happen if she didn’t want it.”

Not surprisingly, the biased judge acquitted the rapist, but the acquittal was overturned by an appeals court last month.

The judicial council is reviewing the judge’s conduct to determine if he should be removed from the bench for his “sexist and disrespectful treatment” toward the victim.
