A Minneapolis cop is under fire for pointing an assault rifle at the son of a U.S. Congressman on Thursday.

Twitter.com user Wintana Melekin tweeted the photo showing a cop pointing his rifle at Jeremiah Ellison, the son of U.S. Represensative Keith Ellison.

Ellison was peacefully protesting outside a Minneapolis police precinct at the time.

“Disturbing photo of @MinneapolisPD ready to shoot US Rep @keithellison son. @MayorHodges save your city! #Jamarclark,” she tweeted.

Ellison and others were protesting the recent police shooting of Jamar Clark, an unarmed black man, who was killed near the Minneapolis Police precinct.

In a now familiar pose, Ellison was standing with his hands up — a gesture that has come to symbolize the Black Lives Matter activist movement.

Keith Ellison expressed his anguish at seeing his son nearly gunned down in the shocking photo.

“Photo is agonizing for me to see. My son is PEACEFULLY protesting w/ hands up; officer is shouldering gun. Why?” Rep. Ellison tweeted.
