Apollo Nida

Just one year into his 5-year prison sentence, convicted reality TV star Apollo Nida transferred to a New Jersey prison in anticipation of an early release.

The move came just 2 weeks before another reality TV star, Mendecees Harris, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for his role in running a drug trafficking ring.

Radar Online reports The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was transferred to the minimum security FCI Fort Dix correctional facility in New Jersey.

“He transferred about two weeks ago,” an insider tells Radar.

Apollo is supposedly estranged from his wife, local attorney and fellow Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Phaedra Parks. The couple have 2 sons together.

Apollo won't be alone at Fort Dix. He will soon be joined by another reality TV star, Joe Giudice, who was convicted on the same fraud charges as his wife, Teresa Giudice.

According to Radar, Giudice, 43, will begin serving a 41-month prison sentence at Fort Dix in March 2016.

Joe's sentence will begin one month after Teresa Giudice, 43, is scheduled to be released from a federal prison in February 2016.

A judge allowed the couple to stagger serving their sentences so their children would have at least one parent at home.

So you're saying ANOTHER one is out? Is Midnight in jail? That's how the last one kinda sorta ended. He had the twins. Married that Asian chick and somebody else and something happened. I just picked up Ta-Nehisi Coates, Between the World and Me. It's a book about the reflection of society thru the lens of a Black Man. He has been heralded as the James Baldwin of our generation!

  • Ms. YaYa

Girl, book club picked it but I am glad I went along with it

  • chachadigi

Nope! Scarred me as a child, and I wouldn't want it to affect my child in the same way.

  • jussaying

Also I just finished (finally) All The Light We Cannot See, (i forgot who the author is) and it was beautifully written. It tells multiple perspectives of kids during World War II. The prose in there.

If you don't mind Spanish ( i think they have English versions as well) & coming of age is your thing.. I also am in the middle of completing The Boys Kings of Texas, about a Mexican immigrant family that came here from poverty and came up. It's pretty good.

Also if you wanted to read about an interesting story set during Escobar's time, The Sound of Things Falling is one of my absolute favorites: it's by Juan Gabriel Vasquez. It tell the story of this guy who grew up in Bogota at the fall of Escobar, and how this one violent act links him to this other guy and how their lives interconnect in a weird way. (Sorry idk how to explain it). But that author is soooo amazing and I love his metaphors.

Also, not sure if you have read any of Junot Diaz's works (he's an american black Dominican, first generation American), but he has a new one out I've been meaning to get. The books I read by him 'Drown,' and 'This is How I Lose Her,' are great reads as well.

Phaedra IS the scheme. It's my understanding she married and mated with him in a form similar to Yandy- fresh out. Then he gets popped doing the EXACT same thing as before and she had no clue, no parts. She knew and thought she was smart enough to school him on not getting caught. The plan B was that if he did go down, everything would be in her name with clockable income to keep from getting snatched & he roll like a pig in mud. Now lookahurr, he bout to get out and that's their new story line on RHOA.

    Read an Excerpt

    A Moment of Silence

    1. MY SECOND WIFE
    She
is closer to me than my shadow. She’s as precious as the sky. In my
almost empty Brooklyn apartment, my second wife, Chiasa, aimed and then
fired sharpened knives into the corked wall. I had taken everything out
of this place, but the cork seemed permanent to my project bedroom. It
had served as my target practice for seven years and unlike me and my
family, it did not want to leave.

“Go stand over there for me,” she
said sweetly. As she locked her silver-gray eyes into mine, I looked at
her and said nothing. My smile broke out naturally. “Don’t smile at me,”
she said with a straight face. “Every time it’s time for us to fight
    you flash that smile.”

She must not have figured out that she
brought that smile out of me, and so much more. It was because of my
love for her that I held onto the keys to this place, where I wouldn’t
even allow my mother, Umma; my first wife, Akemi; or my sister, Naja to
    ever again step foot.

I walked to the corked wall like she wanted.
I leaned back, my hands in my Girbaud jean pockets. She narrowed her
eyes and hurled a knife at me. It cut through the still stale air that
was typical in the projects and sliced through my fitted. I didn’t
flinch. She saw that, and inside of seven seconds she outlined my head
and shoulders with eight knives rapidly fired by her quick and accurate
    combination of eyes and fingers.

“You going to kill me, with my
own knives?” I asked her. She walked towards me slowly until only noses
separated her and me. She pulled each knife down from the cork.

    “Now
you do me,” she said, handing me the knives. Her breasts pressed
against my chest, and her unusually long lashes brushed against mine.
The last thing on my mind was taking aim at her with a weapon, and she
    knew it.

Chiasa, my second wife, is a badass, a flawless-skinned,
    pretty-faced, thick-haired, doe-eyed, ballerina-bodied, ninjutsu-trained
warrior. Pretty and precise, she is disciplined to the extreme, same as
me. Yet, she is the only one alive who could move me off point, cause
me to temporarily lose my balance and have to check myself. The unusual
combination of her deep fiery soul, her soft-spoken manner, her sharp
mind, her vibrant energy and exquisite body, topped off by the intensity
of her loyalty, moved me continuously and I couldn’t keep off of her.

    It
had gotten to the point where she sometimes had me questioning things
and matters I had never questioned myself about before. Boldly, she had
become a Muslim woman at age sixteen. She accepted Islam on her own,
without me asking her to do it or having to recite her any truths from
the Holy Quran. She reads the Quran for herself, loves each sura she
studies and each ayat she learns. She uses every word in the book to
challenge herself to become more beautiful in her wisdom and her deeds.
For her to love the faith like any Muslim born on Islamic land and
raised with the Muslim example and lifestyle surrounding her made her
    irresistible to me.

When anyone in her family tried to reverse
Chiasa’s mind, she would politely and calmly reveal her angles of
thought and her contentment. Once, one of her aunts said in front of her
whole family, “A Muslim man can only have more than one wife if he can
treat them all equally. No man can treat two, three, four women equally,
so that means he can really only have one wife. You’re supposed to be
smart enough to figure it out. It’s like a riddle,” her aunt said.

    Chiasa
answered softly, correcting her aunt’s interpretation . . . “Treat us
each ‘fairly.’ No woman wants to be treated ‘equal’ to another, because
we are each different. We each enjoy our man in our own way. We each
have our own thoughts, likes, dislikes, and hobbies. I don’t want my
husband to do the exact ‘equal’ thing he does with his first wife with
me; or to give me the exact ‘equal’ gifts he gave her. Why would I want
that? I just want him to love me how I, Chiasa, want to be loved. Us
sharing the things that are unique to what we feel when we are together.
I want us to enjoy and make each other feel good, because we believe
the same things. I want us to learn, earn, and fight together, to be
safe, secure, and happy. This is more than enough for me.”

Who ever heard of a judge allowing one criminal to stay at home to raise the kids while the co-conspirator/parent serves time for their criminal behavior. In black instances, the criminal activity would be evidence that the parents are not fit to be parents. The kids would have been taken long before they went to court and everyone would go to jail. Now that Jackson has been released from prison, his wife's turn is next.
Sandi Jackson was sentenced to a year in prison for falsifying tax returns. A judge allowed the the couple to serve their sentences consecutively so that one parent was free to care for their children, and Sandi Jackson must surrender once her husband is out of BOP supervision.
Prosecutors said Jackson and his wife, former Chicago Councilwoman Sandi Jackson, used the funds as their personal piggy bank, spending the cash on luxury items.

Ever since people learned that Mendeecees was heading to prison on drug charges, some blasted Yandy for staying with him and not moving on. There were even murmurings that she paid her hubby's bail amount, which totaled $600,000, according to various sources.

At the same time, however, many of her followers wished Yandy the best, and they left a slew of encouraging words on her Instangram

Agreed. And not only that, the reason why Phaedra hasn't filed for divorce is because she is protected under the guise of marriage. If she ever filed for divorce, she would then be eligible to be charged as a knowing participant. So she can keep preaching about not wanting a divorce for the sake of her children...no, as a lawyer she knows she will be charged as well.

when you get fed time you are suppose to have to do 85% of your time. I know a couple of guys that went down with fed time for drugs and they both got 10 years and did not walk out before 8 years was done...both had no write ups, no troubles at all...fed time is 85% no matter what...so how is this going down???

  • chelle

Never!!!! anyone I have known to get fed time did 85% of their time no matter how good they were...they dont let you out until you have done 85% of your time wit the feds

  • chelle

No they dont....you have had to snitch before you were ever given the time...and then you would have gotten less time...after you are done with the court stuff and you get your time thats the time you do. So to cut a deal he would have had to snitch before he got the 8 years...Fed time is alot different than state time

  • chelle

Yea but you got to get them what they want before you walk out and in those cases someone would have to be the biggest fool to even say hello to him...once the feds got you...the street dont trust you on any level..I had a friend that the feds wanted him to get them some info...he ended up doing his time because the streets wasnt messing with him on that level

  • 88

That's true but lucky for my uncle he wasn't tied up in the streets (drugs) he was involved in a big city hall corruption case (fraud & bribery) The cat the feds want is this big time black county commissioner--one of the last ones we have--the feds are dirty af and unfortunately so is my uncle but karma is a bish.

  • Alicia.Ashe

Got me showing all my teeth today.

  • SandrasNewFave

Yeah, I'm a newbie. I call myself baby's breath. A compliment to the bouquet but not the main feature. ?

  • SandrasNewFave

Perhaps so. Never know with jailhouse dudes. They come out wanting to hug or hit.

  • DopeRhymesYo

Bitch it's horrible that you'd pick a dude that spent 13 years in the chain gang. ...DO BETTA ?

  • Meme81

Not if you're a jailhouse snitch. Like if you find something out behind bars or give them info about a larger conspiracy.

  • Mrs. (Asexual) Elmo

He needs a tickle. Apollo didn't smile for the photo.

  • chachadigi

Thank you! I like to think of it as a blessing because it has definitely shaped and made me the person that I am today. I can confidently say that my experiences in life have made me stronger. “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good...." Genesis 50:20

On my own........why did it end this way.

  • Ms.Capricorn101

@Scar. What made me hesitant was i had a homegirl whose boyfriend went to prison for 7yrs. She did everything right: sent money, brought the child to visit, she would drive 10hours every weekend for this ninja. Do you know when he got out he moved in with her, had sex with some chickenhead in her bed & got her pregnant & now he's married to the chick. After all that dedication. So i said my dude won't play me like that, cause then i'll be in prison. But anyway, yes we are together.

  • JustCoastWitHa

I need to go see him !!!!

  • DopeRhymesYo

    ??? you silly

  • Shahtia Gay-Hairston

The Feds have a common motion they use to cut your time after you serve part of your sentence. It can only be filed by the DA so it doesn't matter who the defense attorney was. They file it for people who cooperated with them before or after their sentence. Most cooperate after and end up testifying years later. They also file the same motion for people who don't have much of a prior record. Trust me I'm a lawyer?

  • Lorenzo Chaps

Todd: Babe, they letting my boy out early.
