Andre Montgomery

Andre Montgomery Jr., an up-and-coming rap artist and reality TV personalty, was shot to death outside a home recording studio in St. Louis on Monday.

Montgomery is best known as the grandson of “Miss Robbie” Montgomery, star of Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s reality TV show on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Montgomery, 21, was laying down a track at a home recording studio on Monday night when he received a phone call from someone telling him to go outside. He was shot to death when he stepped outside the home around 8 p.m.

There are no witnesses to Montgomery’s murder.

A 2nd man who was rushing to Montogomery’s aid was shot and wounded by one of the home’s residents who saw him with a gun and feared for his safety.

The wounded man is listed in stable condition at a St. Louis hospital.

Police have no leads on suspects.

Montgomery’s Facebook page is littered with photos glorifying the drugs, guns and violence side of hip hop.

The show documented Andre Montgomery’s transition after struggles in school and moving from Texas to the St. Louis area, as well as a visit to the grave of his father, Andre Montgomery Sr. Andre Sr., Ms. Robbie‘s eldest son, was ironically killed to gun violence in the streets of St. Louis and his son, Andre Jr., moved to from Texas to St. Louis to escape such a faith.
