A Miami man who dances for openly gay Latin heartthrob Ricky Martin has been ordered to stay away from his ex-girlfriend, who dances for rap artist Pitbull.
Sherhan Rodriguez was arrested in February and charged with beating his ex-girlfriend, Magdielle Bracoviche, 31.
Rodriguez was given a one-year stay-away order by a Miami judge on Wednesday. The order stems from a violent confrontation in a moving vehicle that left Bracoviche bloodied and battered last November.
Bracoviche said Rodriguez was irate over text messages she had received.
The muscular dancer slapped and punched her several times in her car, nearly causing her to lose control of the car and crash.
Bracoviche posted a photo of her bloody face on Instagram to bring awareness to domestic violence.
“I take the courage to confess, I, Magga Bracoviche, was a victim of domestic violence,” she captioned a photo.
"Thanks to God, I don’t have any serious injuries, but I have difficulty breathing through the nose, which has affected me a lot as I try to resume my dancing ... I opened my eyes to a situation of violence, lies, betrayals and suffering,” she added.
Rodriguez was defended in court by Jose Baez, the same attorney who won child murderer Casey Anthony's freedom.
Baez claims Bracoviche was the aggressor in the relationship.
“She was often the aggressor; that was the nature of their relationship,” he said.
