Bridget Shiel

The AJC.com reports a $10,000 reward is being offered in the case of a naked woman who was shot and dumped in a park last month.

Atlanta police and a councilwoman are offering a combined $10,000 reward for the killers of Bridget Shiel, 19, who was found in a city park on May 31.

Her body was dumped in a grassy area near a basketball court in Oakland City Park. Shiel was shot multiple times in the back, buttocks and legs.

Police believe Shiel knew her killers, and that she was shot elsewhere and her body was transported to the park.

“Somebody knows something out there. Somebody knows something,” Atlanta City Councilwoman Cleta Winslow said during a news conference Monday. “So please come forward.”

“When shots are being fired and it’s around our children, that is something that is very serious and very close to my heart,” she said.

Winslow offered $5,000 toward the reward fund. The Atlanta Police Foundation will match the amount, according to the AJC.

Witnesses told police Shiel was seen sitting in the passenger side of her car with two men who held her against her will.

The men were seen with Shiel at a Shell gas station in Rockbridge Road and Memorial Drive about 11:30 p.m. on Monday, May 30.

Her car was found abandoned behind King’s Southern Delight restaurant on Redan Road in DeKalb County on Wednesday, June 1.

While there is no evidence of a sexual assault, “we have to suspect there was at least some kind of attempt,” Velazquez said.

Shiel’s funeral was held on June 11th. Her family raised $5,000 toward her funeral costs via a Gofundme account.
