3) I don't know why it is so hard for people to understand the PURPOSE of BLM. Every organization has a mission. When your cable is acting up, you don't call the energy company. When you injure you toe, you don't get upset and demand to see a cardiologist at the hospital. Black Lives Matter is not an organization focused on the crimes occurring within the black community. They seek to hold LAW ENFORCEMENT accountable. You sound really dam stupid every time you mention BLM when an incident like this happens.

3. A few years ago, I was watching a video/documentary of T.I. police brutality and black on black crime are two different issues entirely and expecting fair just treatment from law enforcement should not be predicated on whether or not black people harm one another. crime is an occurrence that happens among all races and is the reason we still have a police force. crime/killing should not cease to exist for these officers to do their jobs properly (and if in fact it did cease to exist there’d be no reason for them so that lame argument TI and others attempt to make is dumb).

Where are the block parties for the young men and women of color who graduate with honors from Morehouse, Spellman, Harvard??

Mother Denied Parole After Broiling Her 14-Month-Old Daughter alive in a 600-Degree Oven

An Alabama mother sentenced to 25 years in jail for putting her 14-month-old daughter in a 600-degree oven has officially been denied parole this week.

Despite previously claiming it was an accident, Melissa Wright, 40, pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of her daughter, Ashley Smith, in 2003. According to WSFA, Wright “removed the racks out of the oven, turned it to broil and waited for it to heat up, and then put her head first into that oven.” When her father heard Smith screaming, he quickly ran to the kitchen.

Smith suffered severe third-degree burns and received over 25 reconstructive surgeries after she was pulled from the oven by her father. Now 15, she argued against Wright being released from jail early because she believes she might still be a threat to her niece and nephew, who are currently both still very young.

“I honestly do not trust her and I’m afraid for their safety,” she said, according to Us Weekly. “I can’t imagine anybody being in as much pain as I was in… I do not hate Melissa, but I do not love her. I forgave Melissa.”

According to People, the state’s parole board rejected Wright’s request for an early release on Tuesday, and she will not be eligible for parole again until 2021.

Smart enough? It takes more than intellect. I didn’t put this burden on my people and while I may address it and fight against it, all of my and other organizations cannot stop this without a concerted, genuine effort by our government.
