Chip and Joanna Gaines

HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are being criticized for their same-sex views. The couple’s home renovation show “Fixer Upper” is the only HGTV show that has not featured a gay couple.

Critics say that’s because Chip and Joanna Gaines belong to a conservative evangelist church that is firmly against homosexuality.

The scrutiny began after Buzzfeed.com, a left-leaning, liberal blog, published a post about the evangelist church they attend.

Chip and Joanna, who have four children, have never publicly addressed their views on same-sex marriage.

NY Daily News — Antioch Community Church’s pastor, Jimmy Seibert has openly expressed his views on the LGBT community, including that marriage between anyone other than a man and woman is “wrong.”

“This is a clear biblical admonition,” Seibert said after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in June 2015.

HGTV tiptoed around the question in a statement to the Daily News.

“We don’t discriminate against members of the LGBT community in any of our shows,” the company said in a statement to The News. “HGTV is proud to have a crystal clear, consistent record of including people from all walks of life in its series.”
