Sandford murders

A Florida woman was shot to death hours after police told her to stop calling 911 about her estranged boyfriend.

According to CBS4, Allen Cashe, 31, and his girlfriend, Latina Herring, were fighting over his car keys on Monday, April 2.

Cashe called the Sanford (Florida) police to complain that Herring wouldn’t return his car keys.

“You got my keys. Give me my keys. You’re acting a fool,” he can be heard saying in audio of the call released Friday.

Minutes later Herring also called 911 to report a domestic dispute at their Hays Drive home.

When police arrived on the scene at 3:20 a.m., Herring emerged from the house carrying a bag that contained Cashe’s belongings. The bag also contained a gun that Herring said belonged to Cashe.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, police confiscated the gun but refused to arrest Cashe, saying they didn’t observe him touch the bag.

According to a police body cam video, one cop seemed to take Cashe’s side in the dispute. The cop is overheard telling Herring, “we’re going to handle it” and “stop calling 911 to make accusations you don’t know about.”

Police waited until Cashe left the home.

Hours later, at 6 a.m., Cashe kicked in the door of the Hays Drive house and killed Herring with 24 shots from his AK-47 semiautomatic pistol. Also killed in the rampage was Herring’s 8-year-old son Branden Christian.

According to a police report, Cashe also shot Herring’s other son Brendon Christian, 7.

Brendon is listed in stable condition at a local hospital. The boys were shot 3 times as they lay sleeping on a sofa in the living room.

Bertis Herring, 60, Latina’s father, is listed in critical condition.

Bystanders Lazaro Paradesquelite, 43, and Rakeya Jackson, 18, were shot and wounded at a bus stop as Cashe was leaving the house.

A witness at the bus stop told WKMG-TV that Cashe stopped and said, “I’m sorry, but y’all are gonna die,” before firing about 10 shots.

Cashe is being held at the Seminole County jail without bond.
