Korey Brown

An 8-year-old girl is being questioned by police in connection with the death of a 1-year-old boy at a Muskegon, Michigan daycare center.

Police believe an 8-year-old girl who was in the home may be responsible for the child’s death. A 5-year-old child was a witness for what happened to the boy.

The boy’s mother, Bryanna Reasonover, told The Detroit Free Press she left her son, Korey Brown, and 2 other children at Keysha Keepers Daycare when she went to work on Thursday.

She said when she arrived Friday morning, she found the baby unresponsive in a playpen. The baby’s body showed signs of abuse. His mother said he had bite marks on his face and hands.

It’s very frustrating to not know what happened, to know he was suffering when all he probably wanted was his mommy,” she said.

Investigators say 4 children at the daycare were left unattended for a period of time during the night. The 8-year-old girl was one of the children being cared for at the daycare.

According to Fox17 News, workers at the daycare had no idea what happened to the baby.

  • Kwamella Diquan

Sad..An adult in the house knows SOME-THANG! I know shat happens but this is way too much.

  • Libra80sBaby

See…this is terrible. What’s also terrible is that fact that this lady has to work overnight and leave her kids in an overnight daycare.

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

This ain’t no dam daycare this somebody house!! This Keysha house and Keysha need her arse whopped for leaving all those kids alone.

  • MissyJ

I need more information. No one watched children like a hawk 24/7. These stories always end up with folks saying someone “shoulda been watching” but a caretaker has to fix meals, change diapers, clean up, maybe throw in a load of laundry.. Bad stuff can happen really fast… If they say she left to go to the store or was outside smoking crack ok.. but a vague “the children were left unattended” really doesn’t tell the whole story KWIM?

  • MissyJ

Oh so it was overnight? So the babysitter was probably sleeping which is reasonable

  • RespectSelf

Wow, just wow!!!! Like why is it taking the mother to come in to find her baby unresponsive?!?!? Since this is overnight, I am assuming that the person “watching” the kids thought he was just sleeping.

This is just a lot to take in on every part. My heart goes out to all parties involved. First, for the mother who lost her son. But also to the person who was “watching” the kids. That’s tough to know that you wasn’t doing your job all the way and it resulted in baby losing their life. Also to the parent of the 8 year in question… that’s tough even feeling like your child may have possibly killed someone. smh smh

  • RespectSelf

Agreed. If kids were constantly watched then they would never have a cut on them. Wouldn’t be dirty or get sick from touching or being around sick folks.

Who ever was watching the kids is probably going to live with this for the rest of their life…. I would smh

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

Exactly I said the same thing !!

  • Jen_no_juice

There are so many questions that need to be asked and answered but I pray for the child, the parent who lost their child, and the child who witnessed this

  • 100milesperhour

Is that a pic of the daycare center, that rundown, blighted house? “Keysha Keepers Daycare” wouldn’t be keeping my kid.

  • http://realitytea.com/ Lady Chatterley’s Lover

Oh hell to the no no. Do you sleep on your JOB?

  • Libra80sBaby

    RIGHT!!

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

SMR: left her son, Korey Brown, and 2 other children at Keysha Keepers Daycare when she went to work on Thursday.

She said when she arrived Friday morning,

    Is she a scripper?

    Facts

  • sunni_daze

First Impressions are lasting and that house from the outside looks unsafe and scary. Aint no way my baby would go there. S/N I’d fucked the whole house up, I come back to my child hurt (as any parent would)

  • RicanLBC

Looks like a house of horrors

  • Phillybruh

Paying for a nanny for the first 4 years was well worth it.

  • Phillybruh

If Keysha left those kids alone Keysha is going to jail. The 5 year old is telling everything!

  • Anunnaki

Awful these stories today. its just too much, im pist about that guy killed that elderly man. I hate His Azz.

  • Yoni7

But don’t accuse the lady of smoking crack. LOL

  • pynkrose407

SMH….just crazy people have no regards for life no more

  • Di Ana

Children are supposed to be supervised!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched a video on YouTube of a little boy that smacked the baby upside the head every time the babysitter left the room. Children are not necessarily angels, they can be devils too and when given the opportunity will kill another child. Children as young as 6, 7, or 8 years old can kill, as well as, RAPE another child you know! Stay there and be guilble and unfortunately your child will suffer because of your stupid ass!

  • Quitedeliteful

The house looks haunted… You really have to be careful of young children around babies. This woman I know was on that crack back in the day. She went out to score and left her 7 year old with the new baby. When she came back home the new baby was dead in his crib. The police investigated but no charges were ever brought against the mother. The 7 year old is now in her twenties and I often wonder if she thinks about her little brother…

  • Keesh5000

Im going to say this one time. These new children (Born after 2000) are extremely SMART!!!!!! I truly believe a 5 year old can be a better witness than a 50 year old. My 5 year old and all the kids her age and younger do and say things that make me wonder how did they become so intelligent sooooooooo fast! Sad..Im leaving this post

  • Keesh5000

The State should step up their process on letting people own DayCares. Its good money and a easy business to get in to. My friend has a DayCare on her second floor home. She is awesome but she had no problem getting it all approved, inspected and get the grant from DHS for the food program

  • Seek Truth Speak Truth

Right where are his “Dawgs”. They need to find him and turn him in.

  • Lolalao

    I hope not

  • Lolalao

No adult heard him crying? ?

  • Renee26

Shame on that daycare worker…I hope the jail time is lengthy! I feel bad for all of the children; left to fend for themselves with a 8 year old…that child didn’t know what to do to stop a cry and did not know the consequences behind what she did to this poor poor baby…she more than likely just wanted him to stop crying. Prayers for the mother and all of the children and their families…so sad

  • Renee26

They were left alone per the write up

  • Lolalao

The child had bite marks, that’s a different kind of cry.

  • Renee26

She probably doesn’t even remember chile… a repressed memory

  • Renee26

You know there’s other 3rd shift jobs leave her alone she’s grieving

  • Renee26

    Keysha Keeper aka Crypt keeper

  • Lolalao

My bad, sure did. That daycare owner is in a world of trouble.

  • Renee26

Unattended = Left alone and they lying about being gone

  • Renee26

Definitely…whether they were there or not it’s going to be ugly for them

  • Lolalao

My neighbors daughter isn’t 3 yet and she’s very intelligent.

  • Lolalao

    Yep

  • MissyJ

Watching children in home at night is not the same type of job. I did have a 3rd shift nanny job in college… And yes I slept. The parent weren’t paying me to stare at their children while they slept. They paid me to be there (cause its illegal to leave em home alone), fix dinner, give baths, and get up IF the children woke up.

Being a parent is a job, do you stay up all night with your kids or did yo mama stay up all night with you?

  • Quitedeliteful

Yep.. this is what I’m thinking….

  • Quitedeliteful

Yep… Daycare centers really need to be licensed and randomly inspected. Such a tragedy…

  • Quitedeliteful

    Whuuuut????

  • pure_rachet

Who are you?? All your comments are spot on.

  • MissyJ

If the child cried. I had a kid that rarely cried. Fell off a jungle gym, fell down stairs not a peep. Lilmissy would be at my mama house cutting a fool in the middle of the night, in my mama/stepdeddy room and they wouldnt always hear her right away. My fiance died in a house fire at night that he never woke up from…. Chit happens and sometimes some bad chit… Some really bad chit… Everyone loves to be the Monday morning quarterback with the shoulda, coulda, wouldas just lying to themselves and the world.

  • MissyJ

    Cthu well something equally irresponsible!

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

People who can’t provide adequate child-care, have no business having babies.

  • Madame Dinero

I could not imagine!!!! This is why my one year old will not go to daycare until she can talk and tell me whats going on!!!! This world is so wicked… SMH Rest in Paradise baby boy

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

A child’s ability to talk doesn’t safeguard them from harm.

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

Poor baby. Her mother failed her, and I’m sure it wasn’t the first time. Fortunately, it will be the last time. ?

  • Soon2BWife

    Keysha’s Keepers…..mistake #1.

  • bella28498 .

Idk why ppl keep having kids

  • Lolalao

Every child I’ve been around has cried..Shrugs.

  • shun king

Maybe the problem is within us?

  • the guest

    Exactly.

Who would leave their child anywhere called Keysha’s Keepers?

I bet this simpleton mom spends more on her nails and hair than care for her children. Poor priorities and lack of discernment killed this poor baby.

  • shun king

How did her mom fail her?

  • the guest

We planned for our first in our second year of marriage and agreed day care was not a part of our family planning.

I don’t mean to be harsh, but day care is unacceptable in a world where people have too many demented and depraved hidden flaws. No one should be trusted with infants and toddlers other than their parents if they are blessed with good parents.

Many parents make it without day care. If parents want to raise their babies without day care, they can. It’s possible.

Cut out all frivolous spending, work opposite schedules, make the necessary sacrifices to keep their babies safe.

  • Queen B

    Lol

  • the guest

Those day care workers know what happened to that poor baby.

Those coward daycare workers left that injured dying baby in the play yard overnight for his poor mother to find him instead of taking him to the emergency room because they feared arrests.

The baby’s life probably could have been saved.

Darn right, shame on the day care workers.

  • Rhondalousey

Wanted him to stop crying with bite marks on face and fingers? Since the idiot left the little girl in charge im sure this isnt the first time with her grown azz. There should be some type of punishment for this daycare worker and that 8 year old.

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

I agree with you 100%! It is foolish to have children and then roll the dice on who is going to care for them.

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

Who gave the killer access to her baby?

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

I had a nanny. Her name was Ms. Brown. A lovely black woman who sang me beautiful songs and fed me coffee cake. ?

  • zawnn

I didn’t do daycare til year 3…my son was such a cry baby, I couldn’t trust anybody around him. Better safe than sorry. But… daycare owners are in it for money (if u askMe) especially home based!

  • shun king

The mom so she was the cause that led to the effect…

  • Tequila Mockingbird

Idk, I know someone who daycares out of her home. Has a license for it, customized parts of her house for it. Granted, because its just her I think the most she has is like 6 kids but she was still very organized and professional. Looks of the establishment don’t seem to matter tho because things are happening to kids in actual established centers too.

  • Kajun Klown

So because she has a job working at night that makes her a bad mom?
It’s not like she was out partying or turning tricks. She was trying to support her family.

  • Natasha Duren

Disgusting. I bet you are a perfect person. Keysha’s Keepers…..so what! Her child did not deserve to die, and the mother did not cause this heinous crime. The things people say behind a keyboard…lord knows you would NEVER say this to Ms. Reasonover’s face. Have some respect!!! She lost her child

  • BOSS

    Lol ?

  • iblb

This remark is asinine at best….

  • God is working on me!

I agree with you, this is the exact BULLSHIT that keeps me off this site. It’s been a month or so but I said let me try it again. But the ignorance, the racism, the negativity, the blame, the unfair judgment is way to heavy for me. No site is perfect but when 95% of the comments are either racist or or BULLSHIT I rather bow out. I’m taking my ass back to TOPBUZZ.

  • Soon2BWife

Bye. Should have stayed gone. Go in peace and let God finish His work in you and your language.

  • Soon2BWife

When you speak the truth yet it is labeled as racism is one of the reasons we won’t get better as a people. No child deserves this.

  • Jussjess25

Wait.. but why blame the kid first and not the adult? Im confused.

  • I Said What I Said!

Take all the White Privilege you have and carry on. Hopefully none of your kids will die and you will never experience this pain. Now go report this. #IBetYoureWhite

  • I Said What I Said!

Like I said…racist! I couldn’t imagine who would marry you. I have a lot of time today. Let’s do it!

  • Soon2BWife

No, I am not white. All black and self-made. It’s small of you to think all black people think alike. Nothing to report.

  • I Said What I Said!

So carry on. Small of you to think this lady caused her child’s death. But yet, I’m sure you are doing lots of work to build “Black” people up. #IKnowYoureWhite.

  • Soon2BWife

Expose who? Child please. My thoughts are not racist they are my thoughts. Instead of getting so upset at me get upset with people that leave their children in dangerous situations. Negligence has no color. I am a black woman. Thus, your assumptions are totally off. “Coming for our people”; really? Terrible that this little boy lost his life he didn’t deserve that. Parents need to be held accountable when they place their kids in harms way, period.

  • I Said What I Said!

Go suck your man’s dick and stay out my inbox.

  • Soon2BWife

Poor baby…. your inbox, suck a d#$%? ?? You just proved my point. We are our own worst enemy.

  • I Said What I Said!

You are the enemy; which is why you are trying to be a wife and not one yet! Been there… doing that. Body on point, working on my doctorate, avoiding people like you…Up doing homework, entertaining this comedy. Are you fat?

  • Linda NaeNae Owens

The sitter is at fault, had she not left her paid responsibly to go do w.e. doesn’t matter this baby’s death is on her hands she neglected all of the children

  • Kaytia Sharay Taylor

Wtf people having kids have to do with the death of her child? She was working to provide for her children and left them in a state licensed daycare where her children should’ve been safe!!! You should stupid!

  • Kaytia Sharay Taylor

How the hell are you blaming the mother? The daycare provider didn’t supervise and she was state licensed!

  • Kaytia Sharay Taylor

A state licensed daycare isn’t considered adequate? You sound stupid!

  • free

so they let him lay dead until she arrived? WTF?

  • http://Bossip.com/ ohplease

I thought I was the only one wondering about the mentality of the 8 year old to be able to do this horrific act(s).This is not normal behavior for a child. I agree both should have to pay the consequences.

  • Dani B.

TOO MUCH!!! FIRST MR.GODWIN #RIP , NOW THIS PRECIOUS BABY! #RIP LORD JESUS!!!!!!!

  • Yoni7

    THIS.

  • Diva4lyfe

first off RIP to the family, I can’t imagine what she is going through to know that while you at work you believe that you left your child with a responsible person whom decided they had more important things to do than what she got paid for. Now if anyone should be charged should be the person who was in charge. God Bless this family

  • EYESOFLAURAMARS

Umm…is that a photo of the “daycare”? Oh hell no, looks like roaches live there.

  • Diva4lyfe

I thought I was the only one who thought the house look haunted. I would not have been able to leave my child there ain’t no way in hell but again I don’t know her financial status but that lil one of mine would have never ever stepped foot up in there.

  • Quitedeliteful

I with you on that!!! That house looks like it has a bad vibe — and I bet that’s not the first time an incident happened there….

  • SunRiseBlossom

Name need to be changed to “Chicagodumb”

  • SunRiseBlossom

You must be seeking needed attention

  • Look@m3

    DONE!!!!

  • Tee Tee

“Keysha Keepers Daycare” that would’ve been enough for me not to send my child there, not to mention the “house” in the photo (if that is where the daycare is located), no ma’am not my baby!

  • Guess Who

That house looks like stray cats slink around it all day and night…catching mice as big as a prius.

  • the guest

A state licensed day care is not guaranteed to be safe. Babies deserve better than adequate care.

  • EMILY POST

Now that we have different cultures and values or lack of values that have found its way into black America now more than ever.. Once again they have to be careful even of the children that they have around other children because they are not being raised properly… A lot people now trying to raise kids are very questionable…
The home outside is not concerning as the type of people who are inside.

  • VV

right, that doesn’t look like a reputable daycare. I would never leave my child there

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

She’s a bad mother because she had a baby she couldn’t adequately care for. If you have to leave your child with strangers and wayward children, you’re doing something wrong.

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

Bingo. Her decisions set the wheels in motion. If my only choice was to leave my child with strangers while I went to work, I wouldn’t get pregnant. But some people aren’t capable of thinking beyond their immediate needs.

  • Kajun Klown

Really?! Are you burnt? She left her kids with a state licensed childcare center. So what you are saying is that it would have been better if she lived on welfare and stayed home with her kids until they graduated college?

  • Kajun Klown

You are a special kind of stupid aren’t you?

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

Clearly, this is no laughing matter… but I hollered when I read your comment! ?

    Keysha’s Keepers? Jeepers creepers!

There’s a reason state licenses are revocable. ?

If we’re going to play the if-game… It would have been better if she never got pregnant.

  • Kajun Klown

This country is beyond repair when you people blame a single working mother for trusting her children to a state licensed childcare center for her child dying there. Why don’t y’all put the blame where it belongs, on the person running the center?
