Actress Gabrielle Union caught flack on after she revealed her lesbian crush on barely legal actress Zendaya Coleman.

The stepmother of 3 praised the 20-year-old's physical attributes, saying "Let us lift her up. [Love] this young woman."

"When I met @Zendaya I was struck by her poise and that smile and her laugh," Gabrielle gushed. "She is real. She is painfully polite. She is no pushover.

"My #WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday) is a special woman. Let us lift her up," she wrote.

But a few users criticized the 44-year-old for not uplifting a black woman instead.

    Love your hair...............and dress, Gabby.

  • hotntot95

Love when a woman shows love to another woman?

  • Judas & GOD

So, if a woman up lift another woman is considered lesbian? clearly Sandra no one love you and is really sad

  • MsVAllDay

LOL come on now Auntie! Real women respect and give credit to other women. Let's no make her a lesbian!

  • Jen_no_juice

I'm so confused. So just cause your a female and try to show love, uplift, give praise to another female you're gay? Ain't Zendaya daddy black?

  • Liah

    She is BLACK!

  • lQueenNefertiti

I didn't see anything wrong about what she said? She is beautiful and zendaya identifies herself as black..

  • Liah

    Cause Sandra a HATER!

  • leapyearpisces

That is a really good picture of Z. Its given me 80's Cosmopolitan feel. Or Spiegal catalog feel to it....I've seen this picture before, or one like it...

  • Guest

She reminds me of a young J-Lo in the last pic.

  • DivaFabulosa

What's wrong with uplifting a young black successful woman? How did her post turn into a lesbian crush. ?

  • WutizaGRANNY!

WTF?? So we hypercritical about women lifting other women up?!! But then we turn and go APESHITS when we bash each other..mkaywiththisrighthere...

  • stav

Dwayne tries to hard to be a Fashionista, he's Always a fail, he is highly suspect to me. Gabrielle's skin is beautiful , but obviously they share the same no style having stylist.

  • Malcom Flex

The world sees that little high yellow girl as black even though she's mixed. I see nothing wrong with what she said.

The child is black! What the hell is wrong with people. Knock it off already!

She is a beautiful successful talented young lady! Her father is black and even though she is of a mix race, she see's herself like her father, black! She never disowned her mother side or race so I don't know what the problem is. Social media can be so hateful and ignorant and its a shame!!!

All I know is gabby did not say anything wrong and those who went straight in on her race and light skin is as stupid as stupid does...

  • Miany

But a few users criticized the 44-year-old for not uplifting a black woman instead.
^^ But the owner/chief blogger at criticized the 44-year-old for not uplifting a black woman instead. Mind you Sandra azz know Zendaya and her daddy are black. Sandra just trolling for blog hits and is willing to be bout that bullshii to get it (per usual).

  • Justlooknout

Now for once I see NOTHING wrong with this statement. It''s positive

  • KcoolMuziq

Gabby(part of one of my favorite couples) gave props where it's due. Everybody and their daddy is after Zendaya including O'dell & Kofi Sirboe she is strikingly beautiful. But me being in the entertainment industry myself. I've heard some things about Zendaya that I won't repeat on here. But she seems very sweet.

  • MsPam

    Do tell?! ???

  • Queen B

This is ridiculous smh she said nothing wrong here...i need receipts first before I believe that ppl was really coming at Gabby for her comment

  • Nicol B

you don't call a woman that you have to look up to little, regardless of age! she's 5'10!

  • Nicol B

    black hate is so damning!

  • Malcom Flex

Oh be quiet. That's a southern thing older black people always call younger black people little.

  • Soon2BWife

What man dresses like a flamming hobo? He is all over the place with his "style".

  • stav

He really is, and it's not good!

  • Ms.Vanilla

If you can't say then don't bring it up.... Now spill it! We're all ears!

  • Peter Piper ATL

Hmmmm....I wouldn't doubt if Gabby likes chicks. She's certainly had her share of the fellas. MORE than her share.

And why does Gabby look so oily, like a piece of Church's Chicken?

I have tried very hard to find something cute about Dwyane...but I still come up empty. Nice bod though.

  • Lucy

Lesbian crush...where do you see that ?

  • klwbaby

When u find it, let me know. The only thing I see is one female giving another female props.

  • Ain’t Misbehavin

What's wrong with a successful person uplifting another successful person for a job well done!? We need more of it, the only one I see making an attempt is Taraji.

  • hottlanta

Spiegal naw you didn't. Let me pause for a moment of fashion silence.

  • Luv Pitties

At least he let go of those skinny high water least I hope

  • Peter Piper ATL

Hmmmm....I don't know, I think I saw him wearing some in a pic a few days ago

  • Miami8981

I'm not ripping her for her comments but I just have an issue with her pretending to be married and having good morals while she is raising someone else's children because she is a pseudo lesbian. I believe that she and Wade are both gay and are beards for each other. Just come clean with your lifestyle choices is all I'm saying and most importantly, make sure they don't affect your children.

This is why I believe kids are so confused about their sexuality at 7 years old. It's because of parents like the Wades.

I was in a store a few weeks ago and 2 girls and a boy came in and they each looked to be between 8 and 10 years old. So little dude said to one of the girls "why don't you just call her and kiss and make up with her". So the girl said "no, I'm done with her. I'm going to break up with her."

My ears popped and I looked at them and wondered how one of them was already practicing as a lesbian at such a young age. So, when I got home I was so disturbed that I asked my son how is it possible that 8 and 9 year old girls are becoming lesbians at such a young age and he said he thought it was because of the lack of parental guidance in what they watch on TV, listen to on the radio and social media. Everyone has the choice to be gay if they want to be but I think 8 and 9 years old is too young to make that decision. I know people are going to come for me because of my comments. Welp.

  • Mrs.Meenie

I agree...nothing else left to see here folks!

  • Miany

I agree it's a cute picture.. I'm getting glamour shot vibes with the feather boa round her neck.

  • SummerBaby

But a few users criticized the 44-year-old for not uplifting a black woman instead.

  • stav

    I definitely believe this!

  • VanillaCaramel2shotsExpresso

I guess Zendayas dad being black is not enough to qualify her as black? ?? I suppose we live in a society where you must have two parents who are black to be considered black .... Irs nice to see a woman who is black lifting up another black woman instead of tearing her down!!! My WCW has been my daughter and no one thought I was being incestous or a lesbian ..... sighghhhhh.

  • VanillaCaramel2shotsExpresso

  • Coy little wink

well...Zendaya starts with Z and has 4 vowels in it = SHE BLACK

leave Gabby alone Auntie you just wanna tap that....

  • brooklyn23

I thought black was a color in a crayon box. I also thought you are a product from who you descend from. People are still brainwashed by that 1 drop rule. Just thinking out loud

  • Bonsai

We're not brainwashed. Of course she's mixed.

  • SumthinSweeter

    love this

  • Please Stop The Madness

Sorry. I agree with Gabby. Dont even like her...but I LOVE Miss Zendaya! I have a 12 year old who thinks Zendaya is GOALS and I am glad she is a role model for her and other young girls. We watch her show. We are going to see her in her upcoming movie. We cheered her on for DWTS. We are FANS. Go girl! We love you!

  • klwbaby

I would rather read this type of story then that ridiculous Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma bs.

  • Mark mcharm

She might be mixed but she seems to side with the people that are more black than her. no one is fully anything nowadays.

  • leapyearpisces

    Yes! That too!!!!

  • leapyearpisces

I know I just "dated"myself. I love miss the 80''s and EARLY 90''s when it comes to fashions and models. That's when models were REALLY models.

  • MS.BEE

So weird how america overly sexualizes everyone and everything. Lol WCW American culture is becoming more and more bizarre and more and more unnecessary and sexual .
Zendaya went from looking like a Mexican.... I thought she was a Latina to actually acknowledging she was black and it all came after the reaction she received from trying to play Aaliyah. I don't know who on her team tried to hide her blackness when she first came out but she has been going strong after the Aaliyah controversy. More power to her.

  • Fiona

She does WCW every week, highlighting a fierce black woman. There's nothing to see here, except silly people trying to make something out of nothing. Her intent is to uplift, it's other people's intent to slander.

  • Anunnaki

    I couldn't even comment ...

  • Anunnaki

who are the twitta users 12-15 yr olds Serious question. this is why i cant do twitta, I would hate to look at dumb tweets all day... just to ole i

  • NYTimes#1Bestseller

  • Shira Harding-James

  • dontgetblocked

I like Zendaya's personality as well. Sorry I was so hard on her about playing Aliyah.

  • Skin Deep Beauty

    P E T T Y..

  • speakinmymind

    Making somethin outta nothin

  • speakinmymind

Just YOU believe she's gay doesn't make it a fact. That's your personal belief so your issue is based on your own thoughts not anything she's do e or said.

  • Allergic2dumbstuff

Kofi and his brothers seem like real gentlemen. You can tell by the interviews they have done they were raised right. If I had daughter I would be meddling and trying to match make. Lol

    Thank you!

  • hottlanta

So you as a GROWN woman went home and ask your child about 8/9 years old being gay and he told you all of that. Yall need to switch roles where your son needs to be the adult and go out get a job, pay the bills and buy groceries while you stay home as a child for you to not know the answer to a question like that. As far as over analyzing of Gabby's sexual orientation why should you care. I only care about a person sexuality when I wanna get with them. Since you wanna know the status of their relationship why do you as your son, since he has all the answers.

  • Miami8981

    Thank you, Stav.

It is just mind boggling to me and very sad at the same time. Be a kid. Parents let your children be a kid. Give them guidance. Children should not be getting into sexuality at 8 or 9 years old. They will have enough life pressures to deal with as they grow into adults and sexuality issues at such a young age should not be on the their minds.

  • leapyearpisces

Hots, I asked my twins about stuff like Miami did ALL the time, and I am a very good mother. It's actually a good thing. It opens up communication, and many would suprise how willing the kids are to share. .It really makes them feel good because they see that you care and empathize with their life struggles, and also makes them feel like they can come to YOU to discuss things. Lest us not forget that just because they don't have adult struggles (i.e, bills, taxes, etc.), they do have their life struggles, and asking them questions like Miami did shows that you care and want to understand. :-)

  • jussaying

sexuality isn't a choice, and seeing gay people in the media does not make one choose to be gay. rather, rightfully so, it normalizes it so that there is less hiding in the closet, and it allows those who are gay a sense of representation which gives them self-esteem and courage to be who they are. this is very important for homosexual children and would aid in eradicating so much confusion into adolescence and adulthood if there wasn't such a stigma associated with being a member of the LGBQT community. children do have some autonomy, and can know that they are 'different' or gay at an early age so it's not like they are 'becoming' lesbians as if it were some great transition. rather, they already were lesbians or sexually fluid in the first place. the problem here for me is that at 8 and 9 they are ACTIVELY practicing dating and engaging in kissing and relationships at such a young age. it would still be a problem if they were indeed, heterosexual. i do believe the fact that we are oversexualized as a society and as your son said, lack of parental deference and/or discretion for what their child is exposed to does contribute to the more adult-like behaviors we are seeing. however, this trend has been going on for quite sometime now as technology has advanced. it continues to increase with each generation.

  • Look@m3

i can only do 1. It was between IG and facebook. Facebook lost and I cant do both IG and twitter. I feel you sometimes IG be on some other stuff too.

  • Anika Kelly

right like WTF they talkin bout?

  • Chaseboogie The Prince

So black women criticize black women for not supporting each other, and when one does, they criticize her age. Okay, let's just start with the basics, let's just let black people support all black people, then we will get to the advance stages like age later.

  • Munchosgirl

Most girls that I have seen and I myself being one starts to develop around that age. My first cycle was at 9. So my Aunt tried to explain to me then about hormones and other things. If you don't talk to your child someone will, and it might not be the informatiin you want them to have.

  • missmiami305

Starting to think Gabby is his beard.

That's known - they both go both ways

Not understanding the issue here. She is supporting another woman. May the woman be black, white, red, yellow, green or purple.

  • Dowoop

Some people will just bitch at anything.

  • Ro

I think she was giving this young lady props! she was showing her some love in a positive way. which is great!

  • Dowoop

Hes always looked a little less than straight but hes looking more and more fruity all the time.

  • Dowoop

I waas the same and FB won simply because it was easier to follow the comment thread.

  • Dowoop

Im not a fan of Gabrielle Union but i read her post and i didnt get sexual from it at all.

  • Dowoop

Is white just a colour in a crayon box because white people should be called peach, or tan or one of the ridiculous other colours they have now. My kids got a box of crayon for christmas that had 152 different colours. Where the hell did they get 152 colours from??? Pardon my rant on your thread.

  • Enoughsaid2020

I like Zendaya as well. She is a beautiful, and talented young lady.

  • Clock

What part of the Bay ? Didn't know that. I can see it though. ?

  • isis Osiris

  • Quitedeliteful

When Gabby gave props to Zendaya she was giving props to a black woman -- her momma white but her daddy is black. Black folks are so hard on one another!!! Now you can't give props to another Black woman unless she looks a certain way or is a certain age???

  • Dowoop

My first cycle was at 14, my mother didnt wait until then to talk to me but she sure as hell didnt do it at 9.

  • Dowoop

His face overshadows his body for me and yes i was waiting to see if anybody else would point out how oiled up she is.

  • Quitedeliteful

LOLLOLLOL!!!!!!! You got me scrolling back up to look at Gabby's skin!!! Da-wane has nice clothes... How bout that???

  • Dowoop

I like Kofi for her. He seems well grounded and respectable.

  • Pooh

Quiet as kept, i hear she & Dwayne both are ... Lets just say he loves the guys and she loves the ladies & they are both ok with that. To each its own.

  • ShWa

Didn't sound like anything but her giving praise to another black woman, nothing at all wrong with that.

  • MsSlayla

I think you're reaching. it sounds to me like she's just supporting another black actress

  • Mister Fantastic

Shut up and get your life straight lol. You sound like a nut to even imply like you know them personally. You heard...

  • Munchosgirl

Different strokes for different i said I matured early, so was I not supposed to have all the information that comes along with it. I discussed things with my daughters beforehand...
