Swizz Beatz

Rap magnate Swizz Beatz lashed out at designer Balenciaga for apparently lifting his Ruff Ryder record label without permission and putting it on a shirt. A male model wore the shirt on the runway during the fashion house's Spring 2018 collection during Men's Fashion Week in Paris on Wednesday.

"@balenciaga we must have a talk about this Ruff Ryder shirt ASAP," Alicia Keys' husband wrote in the caption of a photo displaying the shirt on his Instagram page. He also posted a photo of the original Ruff Ryder logo on a shirt, and he suggested that Balenciaga "give back to the culture" by building "a fashion school in the bronx or harlem".

In other business news, the 38-year-old hip-hop mogul signed an exclusive deal on Monday to design watches for Zenith watches (picture top).

"It's time to make more History with pure quality & craftsmanship… Thank you @jcbiver for understanding my creativity as I'm just a kid from the bronx with Big Dreams," he wrote in the caption.

    Um Yeah ... smh

  • MercifulLove

Smh. Hopefully Swizz has the proper copyrights/licenses needed to legally claim the logo. We all know how crazy these laws are...so many loopholes

lol But you have to admit, they are pretty bold to copy it almost exactly

  • Voice Of Reason

I don't understand your issue with this. He was cool with them, but then they bootlegged his design and he wants compensation. I don't see what's wrong with that.

My shade fan is now fully open...

Oh, Swizz is a "magnate" now?

I think that was a misprint. Maybe you meant rap maggot?

  • MissHarlem

Stop taking our style and getting paid off of it. Doesn't matter if he used to rock with them. He has every right to speak up.

  • Locapoca

? @ the zesty ass red head rocking the shirt though. They couldn't get Jeremy Meeks to rock this joint? They hired drop dead Fred ? #somanyfails

  • SingleGalCrazyWorld

Me either especially if he created the logo or trademarked the design...but if he didn't then fair exchange aint no robbery. You know "they" be trying to bribe celebs wit free stuff. He took the sneakers they stole the logo lol

  • Goodii2Shoes

    aint karma something.

  • Goodii2Shoes

This goes along with a comment I made regarding how some of the most marketed acts in hiphop steal from other lesser known artists/copy & cheat one another until white corporations follow suit.

Insiders of the hiphop/music industry keep silent on what's happening within the "black music" circles while laughing and smiling in each others face so when white corporations start doing the same thing don't get vocal -
