Bentley Kyle Evans and Martin Lawrence

Fans of Martin Lawrence's '90s TV sitcom Martin will recognize TV writer and executive producer Bentley Kyle Evans' as the comedic gay character who loved him some "Almond Brown".

Portraying a flamboyant queen on the show, Evans constantly complimented Martin's smooth "almondy brown" skin complexion.

But in real life, Evans, 50, is heterosexual and happily married to his wife Velisia Evans.

Evans is best known as the show runner on Martin, co-creator of The Jamie Foxx Show, and writing screenplays for feature films, including A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, starring Lawrence and actress Lynn Whitfield.

    I love black love....

I was so mad back in the day when Gina messed up this show. This was best and funniest show on TV. Thanks, Gina.

  • xenaD

    "U so almondy"

  • ShelbyMoore

So, since this is an open post, what y'all thought of that Tyga interview? He seem to basically give zero fawks at this point. He hasn't yet physically thrown them under the bus, but I see a lil sumsum would pop off if they do fawk up with him.

  • Gamer?? Chick

Call me Almond! Lol funny show

  • SuperScooper1
  • Yardgirl

That's wassup, TV and screenplay writer and executive producer!! Get that money Almond!!

  • SuperScooper1

So....John McCain just happens to have the same kind of brain cancer that killed Beau Biden and Ted Kennedy?

And he was allegedly one of the swing votes on healthcare reform/repeal and while not perfect, a throne in the side of many in the Republican Party:

  • Yardgirl

I was mad too!! Apparently Martin was off his rocker though and very difficult to work with (allegedly lol) No one is going to mess up my money and I would have made it work and at the end of the day bounced outta there like *ghost*

  • ShelbyMoore

Shat, he was able to hold it together on camera. She didn't have to be around him off camera. To this day, I still don't know what was so bad to end the show. Now look at her as$ in bankruptcy.

  • Yardgirl

At my office THREE senior VPs developed the same kind of brain tumor and it had a negro thinking WTF!! That gif is giving me life!!

  • Yardgirl

    Exactly!! Dummy

  • Oh Tommie

He was also in house party

  • ShelbyMoore

That was my ish! Mane, can we have the 90's back?

  • SuperScooper1

I'm just saying...these are major coincidences...

  • Yardgirl

Word!! There was a 90's flashback scene in "Girls Night Out" and I literally said the same thing. 90's was da best!! House parties where people actually "danced" instead of now-a-days where they just stand, take photos and post on social media!!

  • Please Stop The Madness

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common and deadliest of malignant primary brain tumors in adults. My aunt had one that took her from this earth. they are almost never survivable.fewer than 3% to 5% of people make it longer than five years. They can make you comfortable but they almost always grow back. So if you have brain cancer you most likely have GBM.

No Im not a Republican but I feel sorry for them.

  • Please Stop The Madness

    Not really

  • SummerBaby

I just went to his IMDB page. He's done a lot of work. Congrats. ??

  • SuperScooper1

Of course I'm not that naive...but speak on it. I'd like to know others' opinions.

  • Noirluv45

My sister and I were just talking about this scene the other day. She is an avid fan of Martin and this is one of her favorite episodes and her favorite scene. I'm glad to see he's doing well.

  • Shira Harding-James

She said he sexually harassed her

  • JV

Remember a few weeks back when McCain asked a series of incoherent questions during the Sessions testimony? The pissed off Marco Rubio meme face was totally worth it, and McCain later blamed his performance on staying up late to watch baseball, but given his age I was a little worried for him. Pretty sure it was symptoms of his brain tumor. I hope he pulls through.

I don't think Zombie Trumpcare will ever truly die, but it also won't become legislation either.

  • Please Stop The Madness

I just did. It is a common form of brain cancer. Since you have a list of who had it and trying to connect the dots...here you go.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_with_brain_tumors#Music

the ones with the (-) by their names most likely had GBM bc its at one time was very hard to diagnose as its mostly found on frontal lobes.

  • SuperScooper1

Thanks for the info and link; I'm a natural skeptic and while it's a common form of cancer (and looking at Yardgirl's comment plus some prominent politicians where I live developing this form of cancer recently) I just don't believe this is a coincidence. Sorry to hear about your Aunt, though. I hope she didn't suffer.

  • Mama Dee’s Wig Maker

Wow did not know he was the co-creator of the Jamie Foxx Show. Cool!

  • Mama Bear

I can watch that show everyday and still laugh like it's my first time.

  • Benjamin

Lol I went to college with a guy like that. Same exact mannerisms, femininity, height and all. He was hilarious, and such a nice guy as well.

  • Peter Piper ATL

That script was lousy for A Thin Line. Predictable, stale, relying on too many cliches...LOWW-ZAY. He shouldn't want to take credit for that.

The fact that Lynn Whitfield is such an incredibly stellar actress is the only reason that movie wasn't a total bomb. The gag is, after all that misguided "activism" and supposed "outrage" over violence in Black cinema in the 90s, what we ended up with was garbage like Thin Line, Low Down Dirty Shame, Two Can Play That Game and yes, BARBER SHOP and BEAUTY SHOP. Ahh hah, I said it.

Meanwhile, Menace II Society--masterpiece, classic, and so was Boyz N The Hood. Even Tales From The Hood was better than those stupid Black "romantic comedies".

But back to the subject matter. Bentley looks like a Lou Rawls sissy.

  • Jen_no_juice

This is my favorite episode of Martin because of him!!

Stevie Wonder can't keep a wife. He got married again
    __________________________________________________________
Stevie Wonder put a ring on it! The legendary 67-year-old music man wed his 42-year-old girlfriend, Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, in a star-studded wedding at the Hotel Bel-Air over the weekend, reports People. The pair have two children together. The outlet also reported that the reception was decorated with abundance of flowers and string lights.

  • https://twitter.com/Chicagowise Chicagowise

Six black Burundi teens missing after using an American science competition to sneak in to Canada. Liberals are so gullible.

  • SuperScooper1

Because tall men sometimes have trouble finding shirts that fit them well. My ex was 6'8 and thin but muscular. Shirts were either too "young" on him and cut to his navel or "swallowed him." He had to start having bespoke shirts and pants made because the fabric and cut were better and it costs less in the long run.

  • SuperScooper1

I tried not to laugh...I really did.

  • Karen Brady

This dude should have been on more but my fave is Ms. Geri. That old lady whooped Martin's azz so many damn times. I still be on the floor when I watch.

  • Karen Brady

YES!!!! It was on like 2 weeks ago and although I've seen it 100 times it's the first time I noticed Martin trying not to bust out!!! Too funny.

  • Karen Brady

    LOL

  • Karen Brady

Yep! He seems like a weight's been lifted off his shoulders and if they (especially Kris) pushes him, he's gonna spill. Charlamagne was killing me with the pedo question though!! Like a dog with a bone :-)

  • ShelbyMoore

Chile...IDK how people don't like him. He be having me on the damn floor...do you hear me? It was so much that even Tyga had to start laughing. But, that's what inquiring minds want to know.

  • Lorenzo Chaps

To take y'all back even further; remember House Party? Bentley was in that too. The scene where the guys are in the bathroom and Play realizes his toilet is stopped up? It's BKE that says "look at the log in that MF." He's been around and paid many a dues.

  • Hugga Bunch

    Bentley was hilarious lmao.
    Martin show forever the goat!

  • ThaRealist StudioGangster

It was probably that Nigga that look like Mike Tyson. Nigga look like he can shit bricks.???

  • Alisa

This is the "start from scratch" episode with Sherman Hemsley I wish there was another sitcom like Martin. Swear they don't mk them like that anymore

  • Alisa

Sound like she smoked cigarettes from the time she came out the womb. Didnt Cole sleep w/ Ms.Geri She was a believable character everybody knows a Ms. Geri. I liked Coles mom lil crew

  • OrchidJones-Got Dat Job

    Lol. He should did!!!
    RIP Ms Geri!

  • Lorenzo Chaps

Yep, it's important to hold on to relationships of substance. You never know who you're going to meet along the way.
