Venus Williams defeated British tennis star Johanna Konta to advance to the Wimbledon women's tennis final on Thursday. Williams won in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 on Centre Court at the All England Club in London, England.
Venus's journey to the Wimbledon women's final was made easier after her sister Serena Williams took a maternity leave from tennis.
Venus will play in her first Wimbledon final since 2009 when Serena was sidelined by a foot injury.
In related news, The Wall Street Journal apologized for an insensitive tweet about the All England Club's all-white clothing rule.
Someone at WSJ tweeted: “Something’s not all white” before Venus was forced to change out of a pink bra earlier in the week.
The paper apologized to Venus for the tweet.
"A tweet promoting our story on Wimbledon's clothing rules was seen by some as insensitive. This wasn't our intent. We have deleted the tweet."
