Charles Payne Scottie Nel Hughes

Fox Business money man Charles Payne is returning to the cable network after being cleared of wrongdoing.

Howard Kurtz, who hosts “Media Buzz” on Fox News, reported in a tweet Friday that Payne returned to host his show “Money Matters” after being cleared of sexually harassing his former mistress, Scottie Niel Hughes, a former frequent guest on his show.

Kurtz tweeted that Payne said his relationship with Ms. Hughes was purely consensual.

The 56-year-old married anchorman admitted to having a 3-year consensual affair with 37-year-old Hughes, who is also married.

Hughes had accused Payne of sexually harassing her and coercing her into a relationship with him.

She said he stopped inviting her as a guest on the show after she broke off their relationship.

Hughes may have jeopardized her case by claiming she slept with Payne so he would help her land a coveted job at Fox News.

Many observers criticized Hughes for attempting to sleep her way to the top, and then accusing Payne of harassment.

The Daily Caller reports that Fox has not commented on Payne’s return.
