A female-to-male (FtM) transsexual, who gave birth twice in 5 years, says she prefers giving birth as a "man".
Kaci Sullivan, a 30-year-old business student from Missouri, who suffers from the mental disorder Gender Dysphoria, gave birth to son Phoenix with husband Steven after conceiving last February while pausing her male hormone therapy.
After giving birth to son Grayson five years ago before "transitioning", Kaci underwent a double mastectomy. Kaci says that son Phoenix was unplanned and, after going through another pregnancy, she decided to continue taking male hormones.
Since childhood, Sullivan believed she was supposed to be born a male. She experienced depression and anxiety over her female characteristics, especially with her first pregnancy.
Sullivan revealed that she enjoyed the second pregnancy a lot more than the first one because the liberal nurses and doctors used male pronouns and enabled her delusions as a "man".
“I’ve never lived as a woman, but, because I was presenting that way, that’s what people assumed,” said Sullivan.
After a seven-hour labor, Sullivan, who grew a full beard from the male hormones, delivered her son via C-section. She said this time she looked more like she wanted to, and the medical staff responded to her as if she was a man, which helped to relieve her anxiety.
