Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham

Oprah Winfrey is actively thinking about running for president in 2020, according to CNN.

Sources close to the 63-year-old media mogul tells CNN the television titan has been thinking about running for president for months.

Her longtime partner Stedman Graham is confident that Oprah will run in 2020. “It’s up to the people. She would absolutely do it,” he told the LA Times on Sunday.

Oprah unofficially threw her hat into the ring with an impassioned speech supporting the #MeToo movement while accepting a lifetime achievement award during the 2018 Golden Globes on Sunday.

But when asked after her speech if she plans to oppose President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential elections, she replied, “I don’t. I don’t.”

“There will be no running of office of any kind, for me,” she said back in October.

On Monday, NBC deleted a “stunningly unprofessional” tweet that read: “Nothing but respect for OUR future president”.

“I’m sure NBC will say it’s just a joke and try to move on,” Media Research Center Vice President Dan Gainor told Fox News.

In a statement on Monday NBC called the tweet “a joke” and blamed it on a “third party agency”.

“Yesterday a tweet about the Golden Globes and Oprah Winfrey was sent by a third party agency for NBC Entertainment in real time during the broadcast. It is in reference to a joke made during the monologue and not meant to be a political statement. We have since removed the tweet.”

But Oprah’s inner circle say she is gearing up to take on President Trump in 2 years.
