Bullying in high schools

Florida's legislature is giving hope (literally) to parents of students who are bullied relentlessly in public schools. Florida lawmakers plan to use Hope Scholarships to pay for private school vouchers for vulnerable students to attend private schools. The scholarships will be paid for by redirecting $105 from car registration fees.

But the state teacher's union opposes the measure because they say it will weaken public schools by allowing 1,000 students to immediately withdraw and enroll in private schools.

via Daily Mail UK -- The Hope Scholarships would be the first such program nationally and funded through car buyers voluntarily redirecting $105 from their registration fee to the program.

Supporters believe that would fund 1,000 vouchers. Religious and secular private schools could participate.

The state teachers union opposes the measure as an effort to weaken public schools and it and some parents say the measure does nothing to stop bullying.

Some parents are concerned that the school vouchers will be distributed disproportionately to non-minority students.

The state teachers union opposes the measure as an effort to weaken public schools and it and some parents say the measure does nothing to stop bullying.

Forget the teachers they bully kids too and if they aren't bullying them they aren't helping the kids the kids that ask for it. This goes for class work as well. Prayers for kids that get bullied, sometimes it last a lifetime.

  • 5000BlinK

Ummmmmmm how Sway? O the advantage people will take of this!!!!

  • TMW

They don’t want to directly address the bullies, so they transfer those being bullied. Bullies will always find new targets. How about opening a school and sending all the bullies there and let them bully each other?

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

so are there no bullies in private school, or is it a one strike you're out type deal

  • Rachel

Sending them to private school will not solve the problem imo. Whose to say they won’t get bilullied there? Then what? I taught my kid to fight off bullying by saying “if you can’t say nothing nice, keep it moving”. If they can’t keep it, YOU keep it moving.

  • TMW

Or are they admitting they have a serious problem in their schools and that the only way to handle it is to move targeted students? Either way the voucher isn’t going to solve the problem.

  • hottlanta

Still laughing at the education ignorance that there is no bullying in private schools.

  • hottlanta

Send them to war and let them fight off their steam. Their azzes will be crying like a little bytch to come back home.

  • TMW

Not to mention a lot of the bullying happens online now. So physically moving a child may not change the situation. These very young kids are committing suicide because of cyber bullying. I know this is a novel concept, but parents, how about keeping your child off social media until they are emotionally mature to handle it...AND how about monitor their social media so you can know what’s going on. I know kids have all sort of fake accounts, but they are accessing them from somewhere.

  • Stationarity

That was my first thought TOO! However, I see what they are trying to do. The could probably just put the kid in a NEW environment and pay for transportation to another school(public or private) and get the same result.

  • MsPam

I guess everyone will claim to be bullied to get into the private school. Help me Jesus!

  • 5000BlinK

Thought thats where it really started!!!

  • Ms.Vanilla

Why not just move the bullies to one of those alternative schools. Why does the victim have to leave his friends? Is private school a good thing? I've heard horror stories about private schools.

  • 5000BlinK

Why dont they take the money... Hire people to come in and do anti-bullying campaigns. See something say something programs... anything that will help more than a few kids per school.
What if a kid is being bullied and there is no more funds to move the kid to private school???? THEN WHAT, are they put on a waiting list until more funds come in???

  • 5000BlinK

    Me too

  • Ms.Vanilla

It may be sickening but it's reality. Whites bully blacks all the time in school. Especially the black kids that go to a majority white school. Those white kids are so schemie and slick it's pathetic.

  • TMW

Good idea, but bullying starts in Pre-K now. One of my coworkers had to go have a conference about the 3 year old means girls physically bullying her daughter at daycare. Stuffing leaves down her pants, pulling her hair, biting her? REALLY??? 3 years old!!! Who is raising these kids? Probably nobody.

  • Pitty Patty

I see Betsy Devos is doing her job. SMFH. I bet all these so called "bullied" kids are white. They are tearing down the public school system little by little.

  • Phillybruh

As a parent some sacrifices have to be made to ensure that the child receives the proper education and safely. A 2nd job to pay for Private School. Or one of these online schools.

  • Phillybruh

Bullying is in Private School. But when parents are paying for its handled.

  • deadellamore

So the solution is to relocate the victims. Howe about lock up the bullies?!

  • TMW

I don’t blame the schools. I don’t even blame the kids, because most times they are acting out from or responding to what they are being subjected to in their home environment. They are probably themselves being abused in some way or bullied by someone and bully to try to have some balance of power in their lives.

Parents seem to be forgetting it’s not a school’s (or teacher’s) job to raise their kids. My friends who are teachers said the kids that act out the most are those who don’t have involved parents - never show up for conferences, don’t help with homework, nothing.

  • Rayne

What’s this I hear ....trump jr. ole lady opened an envelope with white powdery substance in it.

When did private schools become the solution to bullying?

  • hottlanta

    Saw that. Folks are sick.

  • hottlanta

I was thinking the same thing. Can't run our schools like a corporation. I been pissed at the way they take public school money and have these charter schools where the results have been proven time and time again that the kids grades are no better. They trying to bust the teacher's union as well. I am still mad about them taking school money for lame azz 2 mile streetcar. Their azzes can walk 2 miles.

  • iWasteTime

    Switching schools won't stop bullying.

  • Diva4lyfe

I am with you on this that way it shows them that hey it is not cool to bully someone just because you feel you are better than them, or to the fact your family is bullying you at home and there u r not big boy or girl on campus so u got to come to the school to show what is happening to you at home. The part that gets me is why are the schools not punishing them harshly like if it was a child fighting another child. Crazy to me, kick they azz out they not there to learn so send them home that way they not disturbing the ones who are there to learn.

  • TMW

My daughter went to a predominately White high school and the only incidents she ever talked to me about were white kids trying to talk out the side of their necks. She didn’t call it bullying though, they called it “white privilege” and they didn’t discriminate on the black students they tried it on. They knew there would be no repercussions for their actions. And then one of the white girls said the wrong thing to a black girl and she beat the breaks off her in the middle of the cafeteria. After that, the white kids left their “privilege” at home LOL!

  • You Could Never

Cosign. then we get into the whole entire CYBERBULLYING aspect. It dont matter where you go to school. As a parent of a teen and a young woman who was once not that long ago a teen, I think this is silly.

If the Republicans had their way, all black and brown and poor white kids wouldn't even be allowed to go to school.

The school to prison pipeline is getting shorter and shorter. The ultimate goal being sent to prison by the time a kid is 13/14. It will start in juvie. By then their record will already be tarnished and the next step will be prison and the cycle will continue. I don't know what this world is gonna look like in 10-15 years. I'm sad I even brought kids to this messed up world. SMH.

  • TMW

Every school my child went to, they knew me. And the kids knew not to bother my child because I chaperoned field trips and did not hesitate to put them in their place. I’m only about 5 feet so all the kids are bigger than me (have been since about 5th grade LOL) so I would tell them, “I’m your size. I fight kids.” I was only half joking. They loved me, but were terrified - a very healthy adult child relationship.

  • justlooking

    Bullying typically begins at home.
Abusive parents, arguing, siblings acting out
Those children seek out victims at school and animals or self toture

If those children do NOT receive assistance.

They then become your bitter managers, angry bloggers, trolls and posters, OR the President of the United States, North Korea and Russia

Call me a liar if you must.

  • hottlanta

Shouldn't we be asking the First Lady a, Melania as to how is her anti-bullying campaign working. it has been a year now and I haven't seen or heard anything about. Just a mention at a campaign rally.

  • justlooking

    CHILE BINGO

  • PynkCloudz

Instead of redirecting funds for vouchers, they need to figure out what the private schools do that make their schools a better environment. Students shouldn't have to turn to private schools in order to be respected by their peers.

  • TMW

LOL! I just sort of made this point below, but you are correct. 45’s parents were very dismissive and cold toward him and his siblings. I read that at the age of 4, he was throwing rocks at a neighbor - a toddler in a playpen. Enough said.

  • TMW

She’d have to deal with the bully she lives with first ?

  • justlooking

Yes, she was admitted/taken to hospital. The letter was addressed to her husband.

@TWW - Great minds think alike, I don't read all the post.

  • Pitty Patty

Didnt they send him off to military school. So they basically abandoned him. I don't think he's ever gotten over that. He's looking for attention he never got as a child. Poor little tink tink. He's a 70 year old man stuck in a child's mind.

    So sad.......NOT
    Fuq him.

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

Private schools are allowed to pick and choose their students unlike public schools who have to educate EVERYONE.

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

    Negatory.
    Log.off.now!!

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

    That was my first thought.

  • TMW

Yes, after he got kicked out of the private school he went to
For guess what??! Bullying. And then when he went to military school he was put in charge and allowed to bully and haze cadets. He is exactly the person he has always been. And I absolutely agree with your last statement.

  • hottlanta

It wasn't the kids I had a problem with because I would never say anything to a child. The teachers knew who I were and I told them that the school will not be my second home where I gotta take ime off work for your foolishness. My vacation time is for vacations not sitting in a principal's office because you bad as hell. If you tell a child you fight kids and it gets back to their parents they ain't gonna think you are kidding.

  • klwbaby

So instead of addressing the issue of bullying, the victim has to go to a private school. What happens if that kid gets bullied in private school?

  • TMW

I said it in front of other parents on the field trips! Those kids would get out of control and not listen to anyone, not even other parents or the teachers - they were grateful! It’s all in the way you say things. And it was a different time back then. Parents and teachers stuck together and were a united front. Now, if a teacher tries to correct a child, the parent comes to fight the teacher. There should be no question why kids are acting the way they act now.

  • J2PC

Dysfunctional liberal public schools are not concerned about how to make their school a better environment. -it is supposed to be chaotic & dysfunctional to make your children emotionally vulnerable & socially dysfunctional so that they can fill up the clientele list in department of social services & talk therapy created by liberals.

In fact, many victims & their families are revictimized after being shunned & ignored by such schools where the perpetrators are protected. -better to love your child enough to leave for something better!!

  • klwbaby

The only thing I can recall is that she participated in the No One Eats Alone campaign.

  • J2PC

Eh, takes time...it's only been a year.

-she had first spend time bringing forth awareness while gathering support, donors and political groups (for school voucher & cyber bully bills/laws) to help back her idea before enough big $$ start rolling in to really make a difference.

  • J2PC

A lot of bullies also are miserable, very insecure or academically challenged [which further feeds into them feeling inadequate & insecure].

-therefore, they need to take the spite out on others or lash out (manipulate, control aka bully) to make themselves feel powerful by humiliating or beating down on their prey.

  • J2PC

To an extent, it will. Unlike many dysfunctional liberal public school, private schools often adhere to their standards; dress codes & code of conduct.

Bullies are identified & given ultimatums with warning. -while letters are sent to notify parents and oftentimes a meeting is involved.

  • J2PC

Private schools are not about to let some bully mess up their name, image and fund$. -therefore, they have incentive to do something about the problems.

Whereas, public schools can always depend on those taxpayers funds to come in and pay the bills.

  • J2PC

At least a number of private schools expel bullies. -they will not allow losers to mess up their image, reputation & fund$$$ from parents and private donations (which keeps their schools running & teachers paid)!!

  • J2PC

The freedom to leave a dysfunctional school where bullies are
allowed to stay is a definitely a solution to some parent's problem in finding a better environment for their child.

-everytime a child leaves a public school, their loose the tax $$$ that went to that school for that particular child which leads to budget cuts. ;)

Finally, parents & their children will no longer feel trapped in those types of schools. -they can choose a more reputable school that will not hesitate to send losers & bullies back out the door or not accept their application at all. lol

  • justlooking

    This is true

  • J2PC

I doubt that! Most whites who can attend a private school, will attend the best private or relocate to a neighborhood with the best public school.

Those vouchers go by whomever is applying. If Blacks are not applying, they will not get one. -Kudos to the parent who love their child enough to bounce up outta there to something better. ijs

  • Rayne

    Nope they saying anthrax

  • justlooking

    they have no tolerance policy.

And they school doesn't have time for that, you pay and if you child acts up they kick them out and KEEP all the money you have paid or signed for on the contract. PERIOD

  • justlooking

    Military school is not abandoning.

Some kids come home everyday from school and basically are abandoned

  • Ms.Vanilla

    I know that's right..

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

They tested the powder and said it was not dangerous. No Anthrax.

  • J2PC

Not true. Public schools are not going anywhere. lol There are parents fed up with bullies or failing ones and now have options via School Vouchers. ;)

Only "certain types" of charter schools are nothing failures. -because the majority of those kids come from highly dysfunctional homes where academics are not a priority nor reinforced by those raising them. Then, they bring that dead energy and lack of desire for learning to their classrooms. Therefore, those teachers have to take a step backwards & dumb or slow things down just so those kids can keep up.

There are kids in certain public, private and charter schools that are nationally ranked because the students perform well both on school exams and national exams (ACT/SAT).

  • hottlanta

    Log out please. ROTFLMAO

  • J2PC

Liberal schools have been doing that for years! -their approved way which is a waste of time & non-effective!!

As long as one's child has a history of good grades, then there should not be a problem. There are a number of parochial/private schools that offers scholarships for the students (with the help of their parents) who wrote them a statement about why they would be a good fit along with academic & any talent to back it up.

-the problem is some Black folks just don't have it in them to find better choices on their own because they are so use to be steered or told where to go & what to do. They are not part of the competition for those vouchers or private scholarships.

  • J2PC

That depends on the private school. Some are bad and on par with crime at some of the worst public schools.

-what have you heard about those types of private schools that are not also happening at a whole list of public schools where teachers are pedophiles or bullies are beating & raping students with the school covering up??

There are some really good private and public schools across the US. -even the politicians you're voting not only attended the best IVY or private schools & universities, they make SURE that their children do not attend the failing public schools in their district or state.

  • J2PC

Better get busy with the proof via a police report alongside certified letters and emails to the principal, superintendent and school board to have to share with the application of applying for a handful of vouchers. ijs

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

Exactly! There are just as many bullies in private schools as it is in public schools. A girl just kïlled herself because of bullying and she was in a private school. The mothers of other bullied kids came forward and said, the school ignores the victims and support the bullies. The young girl couldn't take it anymore and ended her life. I bet if the bullies got prison time, this would stop overnight. The bullies know nothing will be done and the kids who are being bullied know that nothing will be done.

They are avoiding the real issue and that's a huge part of the problem too.

  • J2PC

Eh, you can turn in a bully online via a flag/report to FB, Instagram and etc.. with a police report (pressing charges) to take back control from online bullying [smarter parents know how to flip the script on the bully]. -whereas, too often public school teachers & principals give cold shoulders & shun the victims trapped in their schools.

The bottomline is time is of the essence as children are marching or matriculating through school. No need to make excuses. Smarter parents will throw up the deuces & say my child is better than that! We're out!! lol

  • hottlanta

All private school kids aren't smart. Harvard even has remedial courses and we got a President who can't even read and he has never been to a public school. They passed him while they were passing that check to the bank. Good example to show how private school kids get passed just like public school kids. Imagine the uproar if they held back a kid from the Coca-Cola generational wealth family. George Bush bragged about getting to Harvard with a “C”. A lot of those so call schools family gets in because of lineage and money they donate to the school regardless of grade. Spelman named a building after Cosby after his daughter went there and got hooked on drugs. Ranking of schools is a joke to make themselves look good. They rate themselves. Then if black kids had good grades in pubic school they are looked upon as the exception (as if that is not supposed to happen) and not the rule which is a lie.

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

    What A nightmare.

  • J2PC

The difference: in good private schools, those bullies are often kicked out or expelled. Whereas, in dysfunctional liberal school the bullies are tolerated by the teachers & principals at the expense of victims being trapped there.

  • J2PC

You can tell the Black folks who are trying to come up with any excuse to stay on their dysfunctional plantation with failing schools (created by the same ones that they keep voting to have control over them). Yet, those politicians make sure their children attend the best private or public schools far away from them. -man you can't make this stuff up. lol

  • jeniefrumdabloc™

    Amen !

  • klwbaby

It seems like the victim of the bullying is paying the price for being bullied. They have to go to another school and hopefully can make some new friends and have to adjust a new school system. But the bully is allowed to continue to pick on people until they graduate or drop out.

  • Ms.Vanilla

what have you heard about those types of private schools that are not also happening at a whole list of public schools
    _______________________

Nothing that's the point. Private school is not a fix...

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

That's exactly what's happening. How is sending the victim away, solving the problem when the problem is the bully? It makes no sense at all. The child has already endured some form of abuse because of the bullying and at that young age, most are unsure of themselves. To move them to a new school, where there are new bullies and the child has not received the right support and and a healthy outlet, is only doing more damage.

And a lot of the teachers bully these kids too. If they don't like the parent, you had better trust and believe, they are not going to do a thing to help your child. Too many kids don't see a way out and when you have adults that have been put in a position to oversee, teach and prevent, turning a blind eye, suicide becomes a permanent sense of relief.

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

Some of these private schools are just as bad as public schools. Teachers on drugs, teachers bullying kids, teachers belittling kids, fixing grades to make sure football players make it into college. Corruption is everywhere unfortunately.

  • J2PC

I said SOME private schools not ALL private schools. -I did not dismiss all private & especially good public schools. For those in the know, some schools are far better than others [which is why the same Democrats that Black folks keep voting for make sure that they will NEVER send their kids to those same public schools].

If your loved ones public school is such a good thing, then why do politicians and professionals with better income refuse to send their kids to nearby schools & will relocate just to make sure their child only receive the best education & environment that'll prepare them for the best ranked colleges??

I'd say let the Blacks who are too programmed to leave their sketchy environment with failing schools keep spinning excuses to stay on their crime-infested plantations. -this means less competition for others wanting those to land one of those school vouchers or scholarships. lol

  • TMW

So they flag the profile, and the person creates another email address and another account? Those “bullying” safeguards are there for legal protections, but in my opinion they don’t really work.

This new policy proves to me that no one is equipped to deal with the cause and effect of bullying in schools, especially when their answer is to move the child being bullied.

I think the best way to teach kids not to allow themselves to be bullied is that parents should instill so much self esteem in a child that what someone else thinks of them doesn’t matter. And when/if it gets physical, to turn the other cheek...until you can’t. And if the parent feels like the school is not protecting their child, they should take appropriate steps and get law enforcement involved.

Changing a building isn’t the answer. People are people everywhere.

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

I swear I know you were not trying to be funny but that last sentence made me laugh.

I would home school. Tutors and field trips everywhere. These schools are too unstable for me.

  • J2PC

Tell that to all politicians you vote for & celebrities and Brand owners that you buy from. No matter if they came from poverty, they only want to live where you do not live and have their kids attend school where you and yours do not attend. -they have the funds to kick out bullies and have them arrested. Those private schools do not want their big donations pulled or stopped because of some loser or bully.

Therefore, the problem (the bully) will hit the door. -whereas, public school have all types of questionable characters. Smarter parents will remove their kids from that and place them will more 'like mind' students from parent with similar goals and outlook on life. ijs

  • TheOwley

There's going to be a lot of bullied kids in Florida. Bullies now have the OK to keep on bullying in Florida because the impotent teachers and lazy school administration will kick the rock to the good citizens of that state.

Now car registration will increase because private school in not cheap as they will soon discover. Those parents will then feel entitled to receive more. Hopefully these legislators will be known in November and each voted out of office.

  • J2PC

Who cares? lol The point is someone is when a bully have been put on notice or given a restraining order, the moment that they are found to have violated such they will be arrested and the circus with added stress will shift to their family. -looks like the victim will get the last laugh there.

Most victims will tune them out & agree to deactivate their cyber accounts and move on with life while planning for a positive future. Can't be cyberbullied if you don't know what is going on. But, detectives will surely keep an eye on phones, internet, etc. of the bully to make sure they are not stalking anyone else.

A bully grows tire when no one else is listening to them or giving them an audience. lol Meanwhile, their victim has regain control by starting a new life for themselves elsewhere. I've seen it happen where people have gone onto med school & such. ;)

  • TMW

I don’t know how what I wear and how I vote has anything to do with this topic. I work for it, how I spend it is my business. And my state doesn’t have a voucher program, and if they tried, I’d vote against it and anybody that supported it. And for the record, I’m not pro private or public school, but BEST school. But OK.

I am a parent though, and my daughter went to public school, and I stand by my OPINION that it’s a parent’s job to teach their children how do deal with bullies, and make sure they aren’t bullies, whether it’s in person or on line. That means being an involved and attentive parent, and that’s what is missing. Changing schools won’t fix that.

And trust, I would go the ends of the earth to protect my child from any harm, but running away from a problem never solves anything, and my grown 20 year old child learned that early in life. You deal with it, and you have too much to lose to brawl in the streets, so yes, call the family lawyer.

My child did not get her identity from Instagram and all these impossible standards kids - really young kids - have to live up to these days. I didn’t leave it up to someone else to be my child’s role model. People need to stop making excuses and giving concessions for parents that are not raising their kids.

  • Ms.Vanilla

I'll assume what you said is on point. Ain't got time for your book.
    Moving on.

  • Hmmm~?

Are they trying to insinuate that children from lower income families are more violent? Newsflash: bullying is very much a thing in private schools.

  • J2PC

To each their own. Thank God I am among the parents who have done things differently or in the best interest of my family.

-those are the same types parents who are now shaken by the fact that their child took their own lives rather than deal with another day of such torment. Some parents are just trained to stay put, stick it out & deal with like the slaves.

Years ago, so many parents were saying the same thing to me. Why don't you stick around & help us fix the problem instead of leaving? lol First of all as soon as I realize the town was a bad choice, I start making plans ask around & research other towns before my children were old enough to even start Kindergarten. Secondly, I realize that is a problem that bigger than me, the local and State government. Why would I waste my time sticking around at the expense of my children going through a crime-infested, dysfunctional school filled with dropouts & losers? ijs

-years later. Those schools are worse off. Nothing has changed like I knew well ahead of time. But, what did change is we, parents, were smart enough to relocate to a better environment with a nationally ranked school system where most kids end up some type of college, if not the Best!

It's about taking control instead of foolishly staying put. Slaves didn't want to leave their plantation even after they were told: you're free! The same can be said about parents who find it easier to not put forth effort in finding the best for themselves & their child. That's why a number of them end up in gangs, on drugs or taking their own lives. In some cases, I blame the parents as well as the bully. ijs

  • dontgetblocked

Can't nobody bully like white people. 500 years of slavery? Segregation? Prison?

  • Cannelle

"good" private schools cost $$$ that not everyone has access to. A friend's bullied 12 year old is In his 2nd private school, thinking to move again. The administrators are slow to do anything about bullies, despite tuition being paid and parent action. He may move again but there are only so many schools, particularly within his parents budget.

I don't have an answer, but I will say that I was bullied in public middle school. I got so tired of it, that one day, the bully caught a haymaker, broken glasses and all. We both got detention, but after that he left me TF alone.

The main reason bullies exist is because society values the powerful over the weak. People don't sympathize with victims nearly as much as they do the aggressors, so it's no wonder when kids fight back, they are more respected.

  • Cannelle

Victims can deactivate their accounts but they still have to show up to school. And what is the kid doing while waiting for all of this legal stuff to pass, or waiting to be transferred to a new school (if that is even possible)? Going to the same school and being ostracized. It's not that simple or fast acting. Of the cases on Cyber bullying that have led to suicide, one thing is constant: laws have not yet caught up to handle this situation properly. When someone commits suicide, whose to blame? Admin? Bullies? Bullies parents? Victims parents? Does anyone go to jail? Can the school have jurisdiction over private social media accounts? There is no national set of guidelines across the USA at least. Some districts handle these things better and others terribly. And many times, law enforcement can't be bothered to get involved, especially if you are in certain communities. This is why in so e cases, you see victims parents ready to fight bullies and their parents.

Don't forget about the increase in privatized prisons, so there will be somewhere to put these kids. America has the highest prison population in the world, come 2050, a quarter of the population will be in prison for one thing or another.

I not even talking about attending the same school. -the topic is about Private Scholarships (and School Vouchers) which makes it easier for parents & their child(ren) who are fed up to just leave for a better & more reputable school. Others can choose to use their funds to hire qualified educated tutors (especially retired teachers).

If not, for homeschoolers there are those highly recommended accredited online grade schools programs [with real subject and offering real transferable school credits and high school diplomas]. Nowadays, regular traditional universities who offer online summer & winter courses on break hire these companies to manage their Blackboards, assignments, test scores & more.

Where some folks have trapped mind & figure out how to stay in a situation, there are those who see things differently. Therefore, they can make things happen for themselves. -choices!

Perhaps, that child is a better fit in being home-schooled online mixed with meeting private tutors (or retired teachers) willing to work part-time.

Of course, bullies have always existed. We've all seen the losers/derelicts who have nothing else going on and should be sent to alternative school, but they are there for the free meals & to just act a fool. Those teachers find it easier to just look the other way than deal with them. -I know kids who LOVE to go to school & learn because their experience is different.

Choices- can't disagree with you there. I don't have kids yet, but if I do, my choice is not to raise them/let them school in the USA. Too much inequity in economic situations and access to information...and the risk of school shootings are higher. But that's my choice, other people feel differently or can't move that far.

If you run you gotta keep running. At some point these parents need to tell their kids to stomp a hole in the bully and walk that bitch dry.

  • TOO REAL

Instead of dealing with the bullies you decide to teach kids to run and hide.

Who in the hell still sending Anthrax?

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

It's a good question but the way you worded it, was funny. Lol!

I can't believe they think sending the kids who are bullied away is the answer. Smh. I would be more concerned that the bully may snap because something has to be going on at home, to make a child come to school and want to make other students lives miserable. Sending the bullied child away, is like putting a bandaid on a gushing wound. It's useless and the real problem still exist.
