Mo'Nique winning Oscar in 2010

Mo’Nique responded to erroneous claims that Netflix offered her $3 million for a comedy special. The troubled comedienne went on a rant on social media, accusing the online streaming giant of gender and racial discrimination.

Mo’Nique claimed Netflix offered her only $500,000 to host a comedy special, while other comedians were offered millions more for the same content.

After turning down the $500,000 deal, Mo’Nique urged her social media followers to boycott Netflix. She produced receipts to show she stood to collect up to $810,000 — not the $3 million that insiders claimed.

Mo’Nique is still struggling to revive her career after she was blackballed in the industry for reportedly being difficult to work with.

The 50-year-old actress was in high demand after she took home the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Lee DanielsPrecious in 2010.

But the excessive demands for more money from Mo’Nique’s husband and manager, Sidney Hicks, drove a rift between the couple and studio bosses.
