Melania Trump weighed in on the NY Times opinion editorial allegedly written by an anonymous White House source that is causing a media frenzy. In the hit piece the anonymous high level administration official suggested that President Trump was unfit for office.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the First Lady lashed out at the anonymous source, calling him or her “cowardly”.

She addressed the anonymous official directly, saying “you are not protecting this country, you are sabotaging it with your cowardly actions.”

“If a person is bold enough to accuse people of negative actions, they have a responsibility to publicly stand by their words and people have the right to be able to defend themselves,” Mrs. Trump said.

President Trump threatened to unleash the full force of the Justice Department on the leaker, calling their actions “treason” and suggesting the leaker didn’t exist.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders ripped the anonymous source in a statement on Wednesday, calling for him or her to step out of the shadows and resign.

In a tweet on Thursday, Sanders gave out the phone number to the opinion desk directly for callers to ask “who this gutless loser is.”
