Jasmine Sanders, Terrence J

According to multiple reports, ex-BET host Terrence J and his girlfriend Jasmine Sanders were involved in a hit and run crash in Studio City, CA early Tuesday. But a rep for the model says she was not even in the car.

Police are still searching for the couple after a $200,000 Mclaren that was registered to Terrence crashed into a tree around 12:30 a.m.

Witnesses reported seeing a Black male and a female fleeing the scene. The female was reportedly driving the car.

Jenkins and Sanders both had a lot to lose if cops charged them with DUIs.

Jenkins, who has starred in movies such as Think Like a Man (2012), is a host of E! News. He is best known as co-host of BET’s video music countdown show “106 & Park”.

Sanders is an in-demand model with print and runway contracts.

But Sanders’ rep told PEOPLE she was not in the car when it crashed.

“On behalf of our client, Jasmine Sanders, I would like to clarify that Ms. Sanders was not in the vehicle at the time of this morning’s accident and was in no way involved,” the rep tells PEOPLE.

Authorities confirmed to multiple sources that the car was registered to Jenkins.

A rep for Jenkins did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for a comment.
