One of the most recognizable voices in Atlanta radio returns to the airwaves after a 9 month hiatus. Ryan "The Lion King" Cameron announced his return to radio with 2 words on Instagram.com on Tuesday: "I’m BACK!!"
Cameron posted a photo of NBA legend Michael Jordan wearing his "45" comeback jersey to symbolize his dramatic comeback after departing V-103 as host of the popular morning show in January.
In a press release on Tuesday, Radio One Atlanta and its parent company Urban One announced they are joining forces with Atlanta radio royalty Cameron "for a cross-platform partnership that will take advantage of Urban One’s various brands."
Alfred Liggins, CEO of Urban One, announced Cameron will return to the airwaves on WAMJ MAJIC 107.5/97.5 on Monday, November 5, 2018, during the afternoon drive from 2:00pm - 6:00pm.
“Cameron is rejoining the company after establishing himself as one of the most successful radio personalities in the region,” Liggins said on Tuesday.
Cameron's unique "360" partnership deal allows him to leverage an existing brand to create new content and revenue using different mediums across all platforms, including radio, TV, and film.
Earlier this year Cameron became a partner in Threaded Agency, a new Atlanta based branding firm.
"In this new model, my recent and my on-going experience at Threaded Agency will let me help companies and brands in a way that impacts their audience in a positive way," Cameron stated.
“I’m very excited because I’m not only coming back to work with a phenomenal company but also doing it in a new model that was not possible earlier in my career. This is something I just couldn’t pass up.”
Urban One’s digital properties provide more than 25 categories of original content, garnering 20 million unique visitors each month and has a total reach of over 100 million. Urban One will expose Cameron to a wider audience.
