Barnes, 38, was awarded sole custody 3 months after police arrested Govan for pursuing Barnes in her vehicle and attempting to run him off the road while her sons were passengers in his car.
Barnes was also granted an 18-month restraining order against Govan, who he claims is still a danger to him.
The restraining order will be in effect until 2020.
In September, the "Basketball Wives" star filed documents requesting custody of her sons, claiming that any “alleged danger to the children” stems from the ongoing conflict between Govan and Barnes.
Govan, 33, will still get visitation every other weekend from Friday until Monday morning, and she is allowed to have dinner with the boys every Wednesday evening.
Barnes and Govan are still working out arrangements for the holidays.
It is rare that a father is granted sole custody of his children. Judges usually favor the mother unless she is found to be an unfit mother.
Child experts say boy children are better off being raised by their fathers during the all-important formative years (aged 2 through 7), when boys gain a sense of identity before the onset of puberty.
