Rockwell

American singer Rockwell was arrested for allegedly beating a female employee with a chair at a Hollywood hotel. Rockwell, 54, is pictured in a screen grab from the video treatment for his only U.S. hit song, “Somebody’s Watching Me”, featuring an uncredited Michael Jackson.

The troubled son of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy was taken into custody and charged with a felony following the incident at the Magic Castle Hotel in Los Angeles on November 29, according to The Blast.

His alleged victim is now suing him over injuries that she claims included a broken arm that required surgery.

Sources tell The Blast the woman approached Rockwell, real name Kennedy Gordy, about paying back a debt he owed her, and he responded by attacking her with a chair.

The 54-year-old musician was jailed for two days before he posted bond of $30,000 on December 1, 2018.

The victim filed a personal injury lawsuit against Rockwell in Los Angeles on Monday, claiming damages of more than $25,000.

Rockwell was an eccentric singer who convinced his childhood friend, the late Michael Jackson, to lend his vocals to his only hit song, “Somebody’s Watching Me”, in 1984.

Jackson declined payment for his vocal contribution to the song, and he was not credited on the track. Watch the music video below.
