Bravo network has reportedly green-lit a reality TV show featuring B. Smith's husband, Dan Gasby, who is involved in an adulterous relationship with his mistress, Alex Lerner. The good news is Bravo's camera crew will be in the house every day monitoring B. Smith.
According to published reports, former Real Housewives of Atlanta producer Carlos King signed a production deal with Dan Gasby and his mistress, Alex Lerner, for a reality TV show about their unorthodox relationship.
The show will follow the lives of Gasby, Lerner and Smith, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2014.
Smith, 69, was a restaurateur, model, author and television host with her own line of bedding and bath products in Bed Bath and Beyond.
She was dubbed "the Black Martha Stewart" and she authored three books featuring her original recipes.
Smith was a millionaire many times over when she began experiencing memory loss and other symptoms of dementia about 10 years ago.
Gasby, Smith's husband of 27 years, angered her fanbase by moving his mistress into Smith's Hamptons mansion last year. He angrily responded to the criticism on his social media page and he sold his story to PEOPLE magazine and other publishers.
Rumor has it that the former television executive is quickly running out of funds after spending Smith's fortune on gifts and lavish vacations with Lerner over the past 2 years.
Fans were outraged earlier this month when Smith's close friend, Good Morning Washington anchorman Paul Wharton, revealed he witnessed Lerner abusing Smith.
Wharton described an incident when Lerner "chastised" Smith by smacking her hand.
"And I grabbed Alex's hand, and I said, 'Alex, you know you really can't do that,'" Wharton recalled during a recent segment on Good Morning Washington.
The reality show will give Smith's fans a rare glimpse into her home life, as her mental condition continues to deteriorate.
