Pastor Jamal Bryant was officially installed as senior pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia on Sunday, March 10.
Bryant was overcome by emotion in a video uploaded to his Instagram.com page on Monday.
He dropped to his knees at the pulpit, as his youngest daughters and his parents, Pastor John Bryant and Rev. Cecilia Williams-Bryant, rushed forward to lay hands on him.
Bryant, 47, captioned the video: "Yesterday was one of the most seminal moments of my life being installed as pastor @newbirthmbc and to have my youngest daughters along with my parents and sister anoint me was priceless ... #newbirthnow".
Also in the megachurch audience were Bryant's ex-wife Gizelle Bryant, former reality TV star Phaedra Parks and journalist Roland Martin, among other notables.
"Wonderful installation service! It's your time friend," Phaedra wrote in the caption of another post on Bryant's Instagram page.
Bryant left the Empowerment Temple AME Church - and over a decade of scandal - behind in Baltimore, Maryland.
Bryant replaces Bishop Eddie Long who died in disgrace on Jan. 15, 2017 following a long battle with a terminal illness.
The megachurch still hasn't recovered from the scandal involving Bishop Long. The balcony of the 10,000-seat capacity church was reportedly empty for the anointing service.
