Actor Terry Crews apologized again for saying children of same-sex parents were "malnourished" because they didn't have a mother and father in the home.

Crews sparked furor on social media when he tweeted that children need "paternal AND maternal love" like "vitamins and minerals to humanity."

He added: "No matter where you get that paternal and maternal love. My purpose is to give paternal love."

A follower reacted to his tweet on March 1, saying, "love is not gendered. A child will not starve with only one gender loving them."

Crews responded in all caps, "BUT THEY WILL BE SEVERELY MALNOURISHED."

Crews later apologized to same-sex parents, tweeting:

"I apologize to anyone who was hurt by my 'severely malnourished' tweet. It was in response to someone who said kids wouldn't 'starve.' It was poorly worded so I deleted it."

A recent study found that children (now adults) raised in same-sex households had twice the risk of depression than children raised in heterosexual 2-parent households.

Why is he always talking too much?

  • Nik

If his point is that he believes there should be a balance of male and female energy, I get it. However, the way he puts it makes it appear as though children raised by same sex parents are guaranteed to be at a deficit. I can see how that would be offensive.

  • VernadineTheQueen?

I see no lies in what he said that children need maternal and paternal love. My opinion. Been that way. Everybody always fake outraged when you don’t fit into their agenda. ?????

  • Renee26

Well we can see that they're over nourishing their kids... But he stay in the gym.

Nig nog get it together before you try to criticize someone elses parenting

  • BingBangBoom

    Terry Crews.. Terry Crews...

  • Carrington

That maternal/paternal love bull$hit is just that. You can be a well adjusted person who was raised well by being a single mother, or father. You don't NEED two people to love you at the same time in order to be functional. All you NEED is one. And sometimes, you reality can be that you didn't have ANYBODY to love you and still end up being a beautiful human being - that's why a crackhead can end up raising a doctor and and a doctor can end up raising a crackhead.

If you raise your children well, who they become will ALWAYS be up to them. So, you can raise a daughter with a loving father and mother and keep her ass in church 7 days per week and if she wants to grow up and be a hoe... she's going to sell coochie.

Children would rather be FROM a broken home than LIVING in one.
Take the gay out of this conversation - there are PLENTY black women who raised great children by themselves!

I know I will cause offence, however my heart aches for motherless children. I know there are some "ain't chit mothers" out there who do not deserve to have children or whose children are given only to the fathers and I know there are children whose mothers die but to deliberately go out of your way to have a child with no mother ffs like Andy Cohen is just selfish and heartless.

Why is there then so much dysfunction in these black communities with no men in the home?

Can a single parent raise a productive child, yes. But you will never have a productive community with the overwhelming majority of homes with no men, fact. It's never been done, by any race, in the history of civilization. Black folks are trapped at the bottom trying to reinvent the wheel with the extremist liberalism/feminism failed ideology.

  • Kanyade

Will Andy's mom (the babe's grandmoms) not be involved in the child's life? Maybe those grandmas and aunties of Andy's will be the maternal influence?

  • Kanyade

Hm, no Jamaican where I live. I had Cajun yesternight. Still craving Cajun/Creole. It's crawfish season and I think I'm going through the motions.

  • Renee26

People act like others outside of their patents can't mentor and play active roles in kids lives... It's called adapting to the situation. Single parents have had to face this same type of ignorant judgement for years... As long as kids are raised in loving homes I don't see the problem.

  • Yoni7

I've always said, I loved when stars were kept a secret and we didn't see them until awards shows.

  • lovelygamour

as someone who deals with a ton of people on nearly a daily bases, I have to agree. there is a difference between someone who was raised with both sides of the male/female dynamic. also you can tell when kid had a good male figure around. men give knowing/confidence to children. single mothers especially have to be able to step beside themselves if they want to raise confident non-whiny children. when a woman is hurt they attack in sneaky ways due to lack of strength. so the single parent raise male will try to beg and whine because thats what he was taught. Ive noticed that men that was raised by real men can say "no" and list the reason why: the men that was raised by women will "suggest" and whiny.

and if you have never noticed a difference you need to get out more. chris brown and 50 cent are good whiny examples.

  • Meme

Nah no offence as much as I loved my other female relatives, there's nothing like having the love of your mother. I grew up with both parents in my home and loved them both but for me to deprive a child of a mother from scratch it's not fine

  • Itzgoingdown2

After they threatened his America's Got Talent Check, he started buck dancing and moon walking. lol

  • Phillybruh

Because these women make the men the priority and as long as they don't have one everything in the family suffers when all they have to do is put their children first.

I didn't say it's the ONLY cause of depression. A lot of obese people struggle with depression and are emotional eaters.

Ever watch my 600lb life? I have yet to see one case where the person was skinny as a child. The over eating starts early and parents are the ones who enable them first by allowing it.

  • Phillybruh

They didn't have his back. They were cheering him on because he was pushing THEIR (bullchit made up word) toxic masculinity agenda. A word that seems to only be used when talking about HETEROSEXUAL Black men. He didn't correct anything. He just proved that he's a weak beta male and showed why his nuts were grabbed by another man in front of his wife.

He should have said his community is currently experiencing the disastrous effect of the dysfunction caused by communities full of fatherless homes. Children from single parent homes in other communities with men in the MAJORITY of homes and a strong male presence in all areas of that child's daily life have a much better chance of growing up to be productive.

They can choose not to rely on public assistance after choosing to be a b@$tard breeder. They can choose to take advantage of the many safety nets available to women to prevent unwanted pregnancies (i e. plus, during childhood people probably told them that "you act like a woman" so they have a chip on their shoulders. they dont want to hear the flip side, just like a overemotional woman. I think the more stoic women have a better chance of raising a good man. if i ever have a son and split from the dad i would have to give the father primary custody. cause i couldnt be the man that the boy needs. I would try but I am very over cautious and a man needs to take chances.

Black communities were once productive and stable in spite abject poverty caused by jim crow, segregation and discrimination when the overwhelming majority of homes had men/fathers/husbands in them, fact.

We're talking about 2 different things. You're talking about some white perfect fantasyland communities (which does not exist). I'm talking about the complete breakdown the black family structure, self-destructing at unprecedented rates on a massive scale, that has crippled the community. These poor man’s Brady Bunch fantasyland Black Matriarchal communities with strong and healthy, multigenerational female households that are vibrant stable, productive and a cooperative urban village, where mutual aid—including from sons, brothers, and uncles, who provided financial support and strong role models for children that create a tenacious, active, lifelong network DOES NOT EXIST.

  • Melanated Goddess??

Yes! Stop reproducing with shitty men! Stop trying to turn seasonal people into lifetime people. Stop getting with men based on their " potential " . Start taking responsibility for your reproductive system! Stop waiting for men to change , change your got damn self! How hard is that!? Women (black women especially) need to stop blaming men for their issues and start taking personal responsibility for themselves. A man can't get you pregnant against your own will ,unless he rapes you. Unless a man has a gun to your head and tells you to spread your legs. I don't want to hear the oh well he got me pregnant argument/ excuse. MOST take no personal responsibility for their body when they lay down and create a baby. Yet when they become pregnant it's all of sudden their body and baby only. FOH! A man has no say if a woman chooses to have an abortion, or anything concerning the kid. But a woman has say in how he spends his money, soley because she's carrying a child ,that she more then likely only want(ed). FOH! I also find it disgusting that men have no say in a fetus while it's inside its mother's body, but a irresponsible woman has say in how a man spends his money, time and free will while she's carrying a another person in her body. Smh. If more women were held accountable for their actions, single mothers would be a thing of the past. But as long as laws are in place to protect women who make irresponsible reproductive choices, things will never change. A birth mother can be a whole crack head and she's free to abuse her body as well as the babies body with ZERO consequences! How is that fair! No one can force her to sit her ass down while she's pregnant, but the "justice" system can force money out of a man or womans hand to take care of a kid they had no say in just because. The molestation you experienced because no man was in the home to protect you, teach and guide you must have been devastating.

  • 9 Mind

There is definitely some truth in your statements. However, the current state of the black community as it relates to family structuring is a result of the system we're subjected to and the poor decisions we collectively make as a race. How is pointing the finger at the black women going to fix it? Seemingly responsible black men sometimes still become disappointing fathers.

  • 9 Mind

Just throw the hold damn church away "https://media.giphy.com/media/GHahtAwHbzRgk/giphy.gif"

  • Melanated Goddess??

You're being obtuse now! This isn't about black men. This is about women taking responsibility for their own actions! He can't leave you if you don't mess with his ass in the first place! How hard is it to choose better partners? How hard is it to put marriage first?! How hard is it not to reproduce with every person you come in contact with? It's one thing if you were married and your husband ups and leaves you. Vs. Being a woman with 4 kids by 4 different people. One person's relationship didn't work out. The other is an irresponsible breeder that thinks having a baby will keep a man around. For every shitty black man there's his shitty black woman counter part. If the black women that date waste men were to stop dealing with them. The waste men would be forced to change because they'd have no one to date them. As long as WOMEN keep giving WASTE MEN chances this vicious cycle won't end. Think I'm lying? Look at the backlash Ciara received from telling women to level up. Men were in their feelings because they knew if more women went in the same route as Ciara. Waste men like the ones complaining would have no one to date. Another example is cardi b and her marrige to a waste man. You have women defending that bullshit relationship because they're use to STRUGGLE LOVE! They really believe a woman should be patient with a man and put up with his shit until he's ready to grow up. FOH! Again that's ignorant women banking on a man's potential, instead of taking him at face value and saving herself from wasting time on a loser.

No I don' think it's fine- that's not at all what I was saying. Of course a child will always benefit from having both parents in the home. HOWEVER, I was raised by a single, strong black woman. I've never been arrested. I've never done drugs. I hold the Deputy Director position of an agency that employees over 5,000 people. I hold a bachelor's degree as well as two master's degrees. NEXT?

  • Dowoop

Don't you have kids by multiple women?

  • Robert lee Bennett OG

The pink elephant in the room is all these gay and bisexual young black folks and the common denominator is no man in the house. And black women don’t want to take the blame for raising up these Thugs and deviants

  • Robert lee Bennett OG

Ok that’s you personally but why don’t you see how 72 percent of men in prison come from a single parent household... You so smart but to cannot see that your “situation” “if it’s true”is not the typical outcome for children raised in single parent households

  • Robert lee Bennett OG

What does that have to do with anything?

  • NewNew

This!! I was watching botched the other day and saying how grateful I am that I didn't do all sorts of craziness to my body growing up. I wanted a nose job, boob job and lipo when I was 16 and self conscious. Now I can't imagine changing my features. Thank God for growth/maturity

  • 9 Mind

Then you should date black men and build a better community.

  • Melanated Goddess??

Black women are not to blame for everything. I never said that. But black women are in control and in charge of their own reproductive systems. Black women are in control of their own vaginas! Okay! Not every thing is black mens fault either. Both parties are to blame for the current state of the black community. Why can't we ever discuss what's going on with black women, with out the men being brought up? Why can't we address our own issues with out bringing the men into it? At one point in time black women were kicking their men out, for government assistance. Why don't we ever discuss how destructive the black woman has been to herself? Black women put up with the bullshit from black men. Black men continue to disrespect black women. As women we have more control then we realize, but instead of taking back our power. We'd rather sit around ,cry and ask about black men and why no one blames them for anything. When in reality they get blamed for everything under the sun. The most emasculated ,blamed and torn apart male in America is the black man. The most disrespected women/ people in America is the black woman. As you can see both sexes have their own issue to deal with. So we need to do less finger pointing and more healing and coming together. To solve out collective as well as individual issues.

  • Phillybruh

  • 9 Mind

I think a better way to sum up this particular issue is to say only stable and successful black women & men should procreate. But to your point black women have to enforce this initially by being celibate until presented with the ideal man.

  • Floriduhh Evans

But where is the lie? He could've earned some respect back by standing by this. As a woman raised by a single mother, I still yearn for that paternal love. Children need a mother and a father, that's why it takes a man and a woman to make a child ?????

  • Melanated Goddess??

I agree with you to an extent. Everyone has their own version of what they consider to be successful and stable. Once you cross that line, it's a very slippery slope. People that make less then say 40gs a year would be considered too poor to have children to someone that makes 90gs a year. The 90gs a year person would be considered too poor to have kids to a someone that make 200gs a year. It's a slippery slope. I feel everyone deserves the right to have kids if they're mentally, psychically, financially and emotionally stable enough to do so. Yes,I do feel black women ( I don't care about what the other "races" are doing) should enforce celibacy and or make better choices when it comes to who she sleeps with until a man that meets her standards and is fit to procreate with presents himself. I guarantee if more black women did that, they'd be more desirable black men for them to choose from.

The hollywood gay agenda is sick and nasty. They are after black men and bm are not standing strong. Children in same-sex households are not benefiting the same way kids in a mom and dad household are. Common sense will tell you that.

  • Melanated Goddess??

That could be it. Because THEY'VE been trying to kills us off for centuries. But it hasn't worked. Notice that white people are producing less globally. So they infiltrate other groups to up their numbers. They also do things to reduce the numbers of other populations ex: the sterilization of Ethiopian women is Israel. The so called majority are slowing starting to lose their grip as well as power on society. So they're doing everything in their power to destroy the "others" around them.

  • CookieMobster

It is my firm belief that a child should have both mother and father. I am very strong in some areas of my parenting, and as a mother I tend to shall we say over mother and over do for my child (and my husbands a$$ too) and he brings a good balance to that by assuring me "damn the boy just turned 14 and already 6'1" ain't nobody kidnapping his big a$$ at the bus stop" or "what you need to do is pop yo tittie out that boys mouth". Now my husband tends to hold off on uncomfortable conversations with my son and not always communicate with him as well as I do. I foster those times and help him with ideas of how to approach our son and things he should say. It is a well rounded balance. And DEF a balance. My son knows he is such a mommas boy that he can habitually line cross every so slightly and get away with it.
Where it his daddy is in ear shot he walking the straight and narrow. Sometimes I don't know what I would do without the voice of reason he feels like daddy brings cuz at this point in my child's eyes he knows everything and I am the biggest dummy that ever lived .... Unless dad agrees with me and then my ideas is magically cool for some reason. Thanks for letting me vent ?

So let me get this straight. Standing up and living one's truth is not okay but you can have an opposing viewpoint. One-sided hypocrisy. Then you have a problem when a collective group of those you have stand up to you because you're exposed as the weak, loquacious little bitch that you truly are? Sounds much like what many community groups of black men used to do when one single solitary white dude would get happy and try to flex. So now the tables have turned. Funny how you have all the bravado when speaking your hatred, but you play the victim when confronted with your own rhetoric. If labeling the person that is holding up a mirror to reveal your own demons to yourself is a bully, I'd wonder what you'd call a clinical therapist that would do the same thing, only charging you $150 an hour to do it.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

As long as your expedite that going to the grave process so the rest of us can live in peace, we don't care how or what you do.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Sexy identity is not synonymous with race. Please read real text and research and stop listening to the Hebrew Israelites that are distracting you by exploiting your blackness to join their cult.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

So the next time you say something from a black women's perspective, make sure you remember what you just said, because your karma will come back in that same form.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Keeping it together in what way? By alienating and shaming those that are not attracted to you? Groundbreaking.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

You obviously haven't gotten the memo. As of 1973, homosexuality is no longer a mental illness. Maybe your denial is that strong that you have to externalize your hatred and ignorance, but make sure you are aware that your defense mechanisms only energize hatred toward you and other black people spewing this misinformation.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

If you actually learned about the concept of toxic masculinity, then you would recant this underwhelming sarcasm and take time to ponder what your contribution to said concept has been, then maybe you'd actually come into your manhood.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Yet all these boys and girls and still trying play grown in this discussion.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Reconsider your research, the absence of a father is speculative theory. In fact if you truly want to examine the impact of an absent father, why don't you focus on the long term effects of that absence as it relates to a male child's entire evolution versus distracting yourself and others with one aspect of a person's being that you all spend days on end trying to proselytize the antiquated Fire and Brimstone propaganda that was forced upon you during slavery.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

It's not a lifestyle, it's a sexual identity. And it's not exclusively your race. Get over it, you have to share blackness with folks you don't like. The real world is an actual place where that happens.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Common sense is clearly why you remain just that, common. An educated person would stop recycling the same heresy that your heard playing dress up with your stroller pushing girlfriends and actually support your statements with some research that substantiated it. But again, you're common, so there's that.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Says he whom probably sees his children via skype from a jail cell? We'll go with Terry here. He's more consistent.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Just like the majority of the people speaking here are trying to force gay folks of black origin to go back into the closet because THEY are uncomfortable with other black people living a reality they can't accept? The hypocrisy is real here.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

The overseers and plantation owners of yesteryear are laughing at all of ya'll distracted folks.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

You mean you can't walk around being ignorant in public anymore? You have to actually be diplomatic and reserved, and demonstrate that you have some class and maturity? Oh my, what an interesting problem you seem to have.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Perhaps he shouldn't respond violently because he isn't built like a savage ogre raised in the bush. And for the record, black men don't talk about it as it is. This problem has been present since the beginning of time, and folks blaming Terry Crews are seeking another scapegoat to avoid confronting their own truths.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

You're no beauty queen with those eyebrows that were colorized by Crayola, or those eyes that look as puffed up as the mascot from the original Ghostbusters.

  • ClaireHuxtable

    Keep laughing.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

You obvious don't know what research studies consist of. Sure, you deal with a ton of people daily, but unless you're able to distinguish the commonalities shared by those same people, family structure, family stressors, income, age, career choices, health, etc., all you have is some theory that you created while braiding hair in your kitchen.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

So a man that is emotional is weak? You are quite misguided and need help. The actual ability to maintain awareness of your own emotional state is the catylst to optimal functioning in one's life.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

No, I don't want anyone to be absent, except maybe you. The last thing a father should be, is absent. What's interesting is that while all of you are targeting hate for gays as your reasoning, what about the other large block of time or the lack of influence by those you hate is not there? If there is no supposed gay threat then why are the fathers still absent? Surely they make the choice to be absent, as evidenced by many fathers questioning the paternity of said offspring.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

As long as you're the joke, I sure will.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

So many of you are standing on your soapboxes spewing your sermons about children needing both a mother and a father. I wonder how many of you spent years in child support court after trying to deny paternity, and that's only after your boys tried to say the mother was a hoe and tried to trap you with a baby. Consider shots fired. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/134229e74de11825b14d9f2d5993fb97aa649c8303bbbcb71468ad2214f35e1b.jpg

You know what? If you honestly believe that, I wonder how you would handle a gay son. Try as much as you want, you'll never be able to break a person from their identity, period. Let it go and stop trying to be this agent for Christianity that we all know you're not.

It's clearly evident that Eileen has not significant information to add to an adult conversation, and has taken to throwing daggers to remain active and relevant. Bless your heart.

So the institution of married with heterosexual parents is the only way a child can thrive? Oh boy, here we go.

  • PROPHETMAJOR

    ? At ease pimpin!

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Fall back out my lane, Prophet.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

I like how you decided to make personal attacks based primarily on assumption so every other field nigga here could jump onto your bandwagon of hate. At no time have I questioned your upbringing albeit a functional one or not. But it's clear that you're running out of ideas to spew as evidenced by your random insertion of statistics to try and keep the hate going. You know, if I hadn't known any better, you'd be the personification of an exposed false prophet. Yup, that's it.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

You're clearly an ignorant b*tch, and your man needs to use you as a punching bag.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

You need to shut the f*ck up.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Darling, what the LGBT community wants is the same liberties given to non-queer citizens of the United States. The last thing this community would do is take fathers away from their families. But here is what you continue to fail to realize from your skewed, hateful lens: black boys could benefit from paternal love, but when you have those same sperm donors choosing jail, drugs, drive-bys, and paternity testing over fatherhoood, you have to consider where the fault actually lies. Stop creating distractions with your slurs and your ignorance.

Make me, Loser. Or shut up yourself.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Me? A Loser? Laughable comments coming from a b*tch that has a profile pic of shoes she can't afford without sucking d*ck and a name of a tv character whom she aspires to be but lacks the class and the wherewithal. Piss off, cu#t.

  • ClaireHuxtable

What do you know about d1cks? Yours obviously left years ago.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Wrong again, label whore. This man uses his dick, and uses it well. Your little bitchy comment makes you comfortable knowing that it's another man you cannot attain, and gives you an excuse to be a foul spirit among those not bother you. Stop questioning what I do with my d1ck if you don't want this man to go in on that olfactory abomination that you carry and bleed with once a month. Goodbye PMS expert.

  • ClaireHuxtable

You can't because you lost your manhood somewhere.

Hey Damien, your open hostility towards the women on this blog won't be tolerated. You will be banned if these personal attacks continue.

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

    Please stop provoking him.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Never that boo. My manhood just doesn't quench your thirst for child support daddies that go to jail right after puberty.

  • Damien Pierre Carter

Your blog's open hostility towards the gay community is some bullshit. I hope you ban so I can publicly defame your sorry ass low-grade website that breeds nothing but ignorant field n*ggers.

  • ClaireHuxtable

Just passing a little time Miss Sandra.

  • ClaireHuxtable

Go play with yourself now PeeWee. Until later... I'm out.
