Welcome Ciara to Team Natural. The Seattle homemaker and part-time entertainer showed off her natural hair in a video uploaded to her Instagram account on Sunday. The 33-year-old mom-of-2 has worn bundles of hair weave and lacefront wigs since her career launched with her hit single “Goodies” in 2004.

Lately, the singer has grown wary of the effects of hair weave and extensions products on her natural hair. Specifically, the loss of her edges and constant breaking and shedding of her natural hair.

Recently, Ciara ditched her long extensions for her own natural tresses that grow from her scalp.

On Sunday, she shared a video on Instagram showing how she can now tie her long hair up into a ponytail.

“The first time I got a relaxer when I was young, it took out my hair. I was devastated. I never thought my hair would grow back. So proud,” she captioned the video.

In the video, Ciara teased fans that she would share all of her long hair “secrets” at a later date.

The clip has quickly racked up over 1.8 million views, with fans praising the star’s decision to embrace her own hair instead of experimenting with wigs or hairpieces.

“Long hair don’t care,” one user wrote in the comments, while a second stated, “Because we’re not meant to get relaxers Queen our hair texture is meant to stay in its natural hair state #teamnatural.”

“Her hair is long because she got rid of all the negative stuff,” one user insisted.

Another follower suggested that Ciara’s new look is due to her happy home life, since marrying Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in 2016.

Last week, Ciara posted a natural raw selfie that showed her makeup free skin and natural hair.

“No makeup. No extensions. Vulnerable. My Beauty Marks and all. The real me.. and I love it. Finally embracing myself fully! It feels good,” she captioned the image. CiCi challenged her 21.9 million followers to go makeup free and remove their hair extensions.

Ciara is still recording music. The “1, 2 Step” singer has sold over 7 million albums in her career.
