Will Packer’s new movie Little, starring Regina Hall, Issa Rae and Marsai Martin, took the second spot at the box office behind Warner Bros.’s Shazam!, according to Box Office Mojo.

The latest DC Comics movie, Shazam!, ruled the box office for the 2nd consecutive weekend, earning an estimated $25.1 million for a total gross of $94 million in 2 weeks.

Universal’s ‘Little’, about a grouchy, child-hating female executive (Hall) who wakes up as a younger version of herself (Martin), earned a disappointing $15 million over the weekend.

Little fell short of expectations despite receiving a “B+” CinemaScore from opening day audiences. Packer’s previous top-grossing movie, Girls Trip, earned $31 million opening weekend in 2017, and grossed a total of $115 million on a $19 million budget.

The budget for Little came in around $20 million. It isn’t clear if that figure includes the massive marketing campaign that sent the film’s stars on a promo tour on both coasts, including a stop in Atlanta.

If Little continues on its pace at the box office, Universal Studios will just barely break even.
