Rapper Remy Ma may be in hot water after an up-and-coming rapper accused of her assault. So far, Brittney F Taylor hasn't pressed charges against her former Love & Hip-Hop NY co-star.
Brittney, who starred in LHHNY season 8, displayed her black eye in a video posted to her Instagram page on Wednesday.
"So, here am I on my way to a very important meeting and it’s hard to even focus because of what occurred last night. I didn't wanna bring it to social media because Its pretty embarrassing and not a good look [to be honest]. I tried my best to cover it up with make up and move on but that still didn’t work. My Question is @remyma why did you really do this? #WHATHAPPENEDTOWOMANEMPOWERMENT #BlackLove?"
Some of Brittney's followers accused her of "dry snitching," and begged her to take the post down.
They have good reason to be concerned.
Remy, 38, served time in prison for shooting Makeda Barnes-Joseph outside a Manhattan nightspot in 2007. She was convicted of the lesser charges of assault and illegal weapon possession in March 2008.
The judge noted that Remy, who was born Reminisce Smith, showed no remorse for the shooting since she rifled through the victim's purse looking for stolen money, while the victim suffered from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Remy was released from prison in 2015 after serving six years.
If Brittney does file charges, Remy will be sent right back to prison as a repeat violent offender.
Fans say it seemed as if Remy had turned her life around.
Remy and her husband, rapper Papoose welcomed a daughter, Reminisce Mackenzie, on December 14, 2018.
Remy is still rapping and she opened up a clothing store in Raleigh, NC called Conceited.
