VH1 has canceled one of its highest-rated reality TV shows, Love & Hip Hop: Miami. Execs at the cable network tell MTO News Love & Hip Hop Miami is finished after this season.

According to a high-level executive, the decision is not finalized – but it doesn’t look good for the Miami franchise. A lot of people are about to be on the unemployment line.

Love & Hip Hop Miami stars rappers Trina and Trick Daddy, socialite Amara La Negra and R&B group Pretty Ricky.

“Love & Hip Hop is our top franchise, so we have to protect it and only have strong spin-offs. Atlanta, New York, and Hollywood are all doing well. Miami hasn’t performed,” the unnamed exec tells MTO News.

The executive added, “Love & Hip Hop Miami drew in about the same ratings as Black Ink Chicago. But Black Ink costs less than half as much to produce.”

When asked what’s going to happen to the cast, the exec explained, “We’ll try and place some of them on other shows. Otherwise, they’re on their own.”

Ouch.
