Lamar Joseph Odom is back in the headlines. The former NBA star, who was once married to Khloe Kardashian, claims he holds the record for the number of women bedded by a pro athlete.
In an interview with People, Odom, 39, said he regrets sleeping with over 2,000 women while married to Kardashian.
"I wish I could have been more of a man," Odom said, adding that cheating on Kardashian still bothers him.
The former LA Lakers star goes into detail about his promiscuity in his memoir "Darkness to Light," in which he writes that he was addicted to sex and cocaine.
Odom said that at the beginning of his 5-year-marriage to Kardashian, he had been faithful to his wife, adding his married life was "bliss." He said that he and Khloe earned more money during their marriage than they made individually before.
Odom described many of his sexual conquests as strippers and paid escorts. He said his behavior left him "shocked" and "embarrassed" at the same time.
Looking back, he said he should have done more to hide his cheating ways from Kardashian.
Odom's book will be released later this month.
NBA legend Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain also enjoyed an abundant sex life. He once boasted that he bedded 20,000 women over the course of his stellar NBA career. His lawyer Seymour "Sy" Goldberg said of the 7 ft 1 inch center: "Some people collect stamps, Wilt collected women."
Wilt died of a heart attack at age 63 in 1999.
