Ciara Wilson opened up about how her parents got divorced after 33 years of marriage. The Seattle homemaker and part-time singer confirmed the news on RuPaul's upcoming talk show.

The "Level Up" singer said her parents' divorce was "very out of body" for her.

"I've never said this before. I think I can say it with okay in myself," the mom-of-2 told RuPaul.

"My parents have been married for 33 years. And they're not together anymore" she said before adding, "My mother and father are now happily married. I never thought I'd be okay with that but I really am. I'm happy that they're happy."

Ciara's parents actually divorced in 2015, a year after her first child, Future Zahir Wilburn was born.

Ciara and then-fiancé Future Hendrix called off their engagement just three months after she gave birth. She told RuPaul she regretted not having a 2-parent home - with a mommy and daddy - for her son.

"Imagine you go for 33 years of mom and dad being together and when I had my child, my son, my first child, I was like, I just know mommy and daddy that made [a] baby was what the scenario was supposed to be," she continued. "That was like, whoa, when that happened."

CiCi's now-husband, NFL quarterback and Super Bowl XLVIII winner Russell Wilson, 30, came into her life when her parents divorced.

Ciara expressed her concern that she will make the same mistakes her parents made - staying in an unhappy marriage for decades.

"The one thing I fear in life is really wasting my life," she told Jada Pinkett Smith on a recent episode of "Red Table Talk."

"I really fear that 'cause you realize that time does not stop, and it will be the worst scenario to stay in a situation that it's just not healthy, it's not going to get any better. I realized that I have to start making different decisions," she said.

who? I don’t know her parents from the manager at Ross.. i wouldn’t wish divorce on nobody.

    Morning roses

  • Coy little wink

    Those leather bell bottoms ?

  • Gloria

50% of marriages end in divorce. Ciara’s parents were statistically bound to separate. They stuck it out for 33 years. Damn. People rarely even stay married THAT long nowadays. And the divorce rate for subsequent marriages are even higher.? Good luck to them in this love game.

  • Ghetto Real Name

Lord. I been saying Ciara daddy a nice looking older man for ages here. Call me old school! 777-9311 https://media2.giphy.com/media/l46C6ULPZvm8QbCmI/giphy.gif

Ugh! I must not be reading this right:

Ciara expressed her concern that she will make the same mistakes her parents made - staying in an unhappy marriage for decades.

Why make the same mistakes and be miserable? ?

I didn't see fights either as child ... no more than my dad handling his and my mom handling her ....

  • WhoKnew

The homemaker and part-time singer, huh? How about the part-time homemaker and rodeo bull wrestling singer?

  • Gloria

I love that. See that’s what I’m talking about. A love like that is so rare in this world. I hope to have a long marriage like that where we are still deeply in love with one another as our younger days. Stories like that give me so much hope. I was exposed to nothing but dysfunctional and toxic marriages as a kid. Til this day I still don’t know why my parents are still married and living under the same roof. They tolerate each other but are no where near being “in love.”

  • Gloria

Lol she does have strong features and use to look so awkward to me. Her and her sister. But Serena has came a longggggg wayyyy. I think she’s a beauty now

One thing I noticed and notice ..... they are true friends... they both like each other as individuals ... growing up seeing that is a blessing but on da flip me and my sisters set some high unrealistic standards for men we dated in da past ..... had to realize in da real world everyone did not have a stable foundation so being very naive to dat very fact caused us (me and my sisters) to make some unwise choices in men .... but we still still this day have had the example ... so eventually we put our big britches on ... my sister divorced learned and is now with her right partner ... me I went through hella shyt .... found out my bew was watched me from afar the whole time and when I woke up ... he showed up ... my other sister Chile... Ion know she still blames my dad secretly for being too strict ... which by da (I) appreciate now ... lol but her azz still finding flaws in da men she dates .... hardcore with it too ??? we all will get there ... if you desire love ... from my experience let it flow to you not chase ... love is never chased after ... that example was showed and drilled into me over and over until finally I released subconsciously let it flow through me .... it will flow right back to me and it did .... and bew there is always hope .... we (some) are born from love ... that is da hope and grace we do have flowing through our blood ... hang in there !?

As a happily married woman, I wondered what could have happened that 33 years weren't worth salvaging. I've heard people say that people grow apart. After 33 years!? I also noticed that Ciara said, her parents are now HAPPILY married, which could possibly mean they weren't happily married to each other. Before I got married, I prayed long and hard for my husband. I stayed single for over five years. My husband was single longer than I was and was searching for the right one. This story scared me at first, but I realized anything not built on the right foundation is bound to fall. My husband and I talked about longevity. We love each other, we work hard, communicate, and we work together to keep the fire burning. Hell, every time that man says hello to me, the panties come down!

  • ALLMINE?

???? exactly.. who she gonna get now?

  • Bree

Fifty years, that is so beautiful. My husband and I are striving for that. My husband is my best friend, except I get the luxury to knock him out when he acts crazy. He is so overprotective but that's one of the things I love about him. Marriage isn't hard, it's hard work and most people aren't willing to work hard at it. Kudos to your parents for a great example of true love!!

  • Bree

Ciara said they are now married. So she found someone else. That's an indication that they weren't made for each other. I always tell people you can find anyone to fit in your bed. Find the woman you want, but make sure she's also what you need.

  • Karen Brady

    Okay.

  • GrandHustleGirl1

So happy for you Bree. I love to hear stuff like this. My Mister and I are working towards marriage. ?

  • Bree

I will be praying for you and your mister. Marriage is hard work, I'll tell anybody that. After a couple of years, my husband and I became very fond of each other. We laugh, joke, and play, but we also work hard. Both of us come from strict upbringings so we kind of have fun around the house alot. My husband treats me like a queen and sometimes it's scary because I went through alot in relationships. I don't want for nothing because he handles everything. All I have to do is wake up in the morning. Dreams come true and you just have to put your faith in God. Things will work out! If you need advice, I'm no expert but I will share my experience

  • WhoKnew

And he gave in to those wimmens....udderwise he'd still be married.

  • Renee

Come on Cici, reveal to us your secret! That would be beautiful! I am tired of public figures believing we cannot see through them & they joke about it In private.

  • Allihave2say

My question is, "are you unhappy in YOUR marriage and fearing you'll be tied to romantic Russell unhappily for decades?"

  • GrandHustleGirl1

I appreciate you. This means a lot to me. Thank you.

  • Bree

    God bless

  • Joy King

When you say all you have to do is wake up in the morning,...you do have a career right?

  • Mielle Downey

Who cares about this? They are not in the public eye and Cerror needs to worry about her own marriage. She lied in the first place about thier married status to sell her picture off happiness. What a tragedy.

  • Rhyme and Reason

Ciara had a two-parent home, but her parents’ relationship wasn’t picture perfect, as with most marriages!

Most or MANY married couples’ longevity is not always about love and happiness, but other reasons: time invested, other women or men in the marriage (you ain’t gett’n Bish), property, or the image of being married!

  • Rhyme and Reason

Congrats to you, but “foundation” is key as you stated, as well as “common bonds” which was your foundation!

All that opposites attract is quite misleading, as I learned the hard way! You and your husband were on the same page from the start, which is not common!

We women tend think he will change or get caught up in the “potential” of what could be, and waste time, often years!

  • Kay J

This the BEST celebrity blog site around but It must be a slow sloowwww news day ?

  • Bree

Honey, I gave my husband a run for his money. He was a stone cold beast when we first met. I wanted to knock him out. He told me that I was the first and only woman to ever test his gangster. I was raised in the projects so that life is nothing to me. I let him know day one what I was willing to put up with and what I was never going to tolerate. He respects that more than anything. And I like him so we mesh well together. We are both glad we waited for each other. We're lifetime partners and we work very hard. The time and effort my husband puts him to see me smile means the world and I thank God for that.

  • Rhyme and Reason

I have known quite a few women married to men like Russell (w/o the millions), but just NOT in love with them! I hope she does at some point (my assumption)!

Right now she’s in love with her kids and family that happens to include him (my assumption)!

Russell was her rebound, and she was deeply in love with Future, shaking and trembling when she went public professing her love for him.

Ciara should be in counseling to unpack things, so she can fall deeply in love with her husband, this Awesome Black Man!

  • Rhyme and Reason

One of my sisters work in trucking, and used to see Ciara’s dad when he would come through her office.

She said he is very good looking in person and very nice, personable, so I’m sure there was a lot of temptation, and he might have given in to those “wimmens!” Lol!

  • Alextra Ballard

    I bleeve it!!!

  • Rhyme and Reason

Well, you are really blessed! Your husband confirms what men always told me, we [women] control the situation or relationship! You believed it, instinctively!

I almost had a “Tito hand me some tissue” moment when I read... “The time and effort my husband puts him to see me smile means the world and I thank God for that.”

It’s nice to hear stories like yours, not photo-ops!

  • Alextra Ballard

I agree...this is one of the best

  • Bree

The glory is God's. I hate pictures, but my husband loves to snap. I don't share photo ops although my husband loves pictures of my face. He says because I'm so pretty. I tell him all the time, honey, I'm cute but not that cute.

My husband is a hard worker and I couldn't ask for anything else. I was taking good care of me before he came along. He does the craziest things for me and just lights up my world. I never thought this was possible, but with God all things are possible including true love! It started with Jesus.

  • Rhyme and Reason

Yep, Serena’s features are strong, and the bulk she has from the workouts she does!

We’ve never seen a skinny Serena, or a tennis player like her either!

She is a beauty, and some celebs in person are even more attractive, can’t always go by photos!

  • Tee Tee

    "Part-time singer" the shade??????

  • Tee Tee

Thank you??? and I've been with mine for 17 years! Hell I want a divorce at least once a year ijs? Marriage ain't no joke if I could turn back the hands of time... Let me stop?????

  • T865!

    Shit happens ?????

  • Allihave2say

Russell is a beautiful man in character and handsome in looks. She will do well to appreciate what so many women wish and hope for in a husband. That man appears to support her every endeavor and adore her as well as her son. I'm not sure she loves Future Sr more than her ego is still bruised because to him she wasn't as special as she thought and the closer wasn't in the way she wanted. Most whores are excellent in bed but that's all they bring to the table. The woman is pleasured but her pleasure really isn't his concern.

  • Alextra Ballard

Relationships in themselves are hard work...I’m willing tew bet marriage is even harder. Wishing yew another 17 yrs.?

  • tia

Wow, Ciara has very attractive parents; good looking people. Best of luck and prayers to this new chapter and next phase in their lives.

  • Cheese eggs

Mine too. All of their friends are still married. All of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. My aunt says that the key for her was getting a PHD in her husband. Spend time getting to know who you married.

  • Tee Tee

    Thanks love??

  • thrift.store.jungle

either i’m confused or she’s inarticulate. are they married still, her parents? did they divorce then remarry each other? do i care enough to research further? so many questions. best of luck to all of them tho.

  • PYT

What on earth are they wearing? He’s looking like a 90’s throwback, the baby is in a Pebbles Flintstonesque outfit, and Ciara is dressed like a cowgirl.

  • IyanlaVanzantoftheInterWebs

Ciara is a perfect combo of both parents!

  • stepkem

Maybe she was misquoted and actually said happily unmarried.

  • Shamwow

I like Ci’s outfit. So much so I didn’t see the others. Too bad she can’t rewear this to a old time road kid event. Would be nice I would ride Russell’s wallet until I can’t no more https://media1.giphy.com/media/OjHGej3nqBUjZvQktX/giphy.gif

I can see how her parents divorce could cause some insecurities, 33 years is a long time and divorce can still come as a shock to grown children.

  • Logan Roberts

    Ciara have nice looking parents.

  • Jordan’s Memory

Wow her parents looked so young and they are attractive too. 33 years is a long time but I wonder how many of those years were truly happy before they decided or she decided she couldn't take it anymore. A lot of people think because you have been together for a long time that you are a poster child on what a good marriage is. Not true, woman in certain era's was taught to stick it out no matter what, ur happiness is put on the back burner and you suppose to keep ur family together and keep up appearances. I certainly hope that wasn't the case. Clearly they must have been VERY young when they got married or that number is wrong because they look like they in their upper 40s early 50s.... If she was gonna open up about the divorce tell us what caused it although I'm sure we already know. He got that Mathews Knowles having kids outside his marriage vibe, or at least a longtime mistress.

Many owe Auntie Sandra a apology. She said moons ago something wasn't right with this so perfect marriage of this childs parents that she wanted to emulate by any means necessary but you all dragged Auntie. In the same hand I agreed with auntie but she misread my comment and gave me much shade on a later post.? I believe that's why they had one kid too, momma knew it wasn't right but she was going to stay regardless and Ciara will do the same until she's let go of. Future had long left Ciara, when she could admit to herself he was out she let go and said publicly she broke it of, Future had long broke it off, yet she was willing to try again. Just like auntie said then this ?? EXPLAINS A LOT ABOUT CIARA. Yes girls from 2 parent homes have daddy issues too.

Say you sorry guys, say sorry...
