Beyonce and her eldest daughter Blue Ivy arrived for the world premiere of Disney’s “The Lion King” at the Dolby theatre in Hollywood, CA on July 9.

Beyonce voices Nala in “The Lion King,” which also stars voice actors Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, and Billy Eichner as Timon.

Beyonce’s costume and cornrows hairdo were the talk of the evening. According to Redcarpet-fashionawards, she wore a bespoke crystal chandelier embroidered tuxedo dress with a dégradé crystal embroidered skirt by Alexander McQueen. She accessorized her outfit with crystal jewelry, crystal embroidered pin heel sandals, and a crystal chandelier embroidered box clutch all from Alexander McQueen.

Her natural hair was styled in cornrows with some pin curls and gelled down edges. Her stylist added a hair extension ponytail in keeping with the Lion King theme.

Daughter Blue Ivy wore a black mini version of her mother’s outfit, complete with embroidered crystal shoulder pads on her jacket and a black crystal embroidered skirt all by Alexander McQueen.

After the star-studded Hollywood premiere, Disney dropped Beyonce’s new single at midnight. The single, titled “Spirit”, is off the Lion King soundtrack. The underwhelming track garnered less than 100,000 views by 7 a.m. – a pitifully low number for a star of Beyonce’s caliber. It was one of the few signs that Beyonce may not be the star power she once was.

The Lion King opens in theaters nationwide next Friday, July 19.
