A$AP Rocky thanked fans after getting his first taste of freedom on Friday. The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was charged with assaulting an Afghan migrant who hit his bodyguard with headphones during a scuffle on June 30.

Rocky, 30, was released early from a Swedish jail on Friday ahead of his trial verdict. Two members of his entourage who were arrested with him were also released from jail on Friday.

Rocky thanked his fans for their support in an Instagram post on Friday afternoon. In the caption of a somber image of himself wearing a yellow scarf, he wrote:

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my fans, friends, and anyone across the globe who supported me during these few weeks. I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for all of you this has been a very difficult and humbling experience I want to thank the court for allowing me Bladi and Thoto to return to our family and friends thanks agains for all the love and support.”

President Trump announced Rocky’s early release on Twitter.com. “A$AP Rocky released from prison and on his way home to the United States from Sweden. It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP!”

Trump interceded on Rocky’s behalf after his good friends, Kanye and Kim Kardashian-West asked him to help the rapper.

Rocky faced a minimum of 2 years in prison if convicted on the assault charge. It is not clear if he will be ordered to return to Sweden to hear the judge’s verdict.
