The news series stars KJ Smith, Ebony Obsidian, Mignon Von and Novi Brown. The four girlfriends share the same dilemma as millions of women who choose careers over raising families: “Why am I single?”

Successful divorce lawyer Andrea “Andi” Barnett (played by Smith) is the “common sense one of the group.” Andi is confident, driven, ambitious, clever and witty, but she can’t keep a man.

Obsidian plays Karen Mott, owner of an up-and-coming hair salon. She is street-smart, headstrong and independent, and single.

Daniella “Danni” King (played by Von) is a “ride-or-die” chick who tends to stay in everybody’s business. She is street-smart, headstrong, independent and manless.

Bank teller Sabrina Hollins (Brown) is stylish and smart, but reserved and plays it safe when it comes to dating. She is the peacemaker who keeps the others grounded.

The hourlong drama is written, directed, and executive produced by Tyler Perry. Michelle Sneed is executive producer for Tyler Perry Studios.

Sistas joins Tyler Perry’s other BET series, The Oval, under Perry’s exclusive content partnership deal with Viacom, which owns BET.

Production is currently underway at Perry’s Atlanta-based Tyler Perry Studios.
