Popeyes viral marketing campaign for their new spicy chicken sandwich is so successful that customers fight each other and climb into drive-thru windows in search of the elusive sandwiches.

Oprah’s bestie Gayle King is among the celebrities who decided to sample the sandwich to see what the fuss is about.

Gayle didn’t need a police escort to Popeyes like Janet Jackson, but she did take along her hunky nephew to help her jump the lines. Unfortunately, Gayle couldn’t find a Popeyes location that had the spicy chicken sandwiches in stock.

Gayle and her handsome nephew Cameron Harrison had high hopes that they would sample the sandwich for themselves on Sunday. But the location they drove to was sold out.

She then posted a photo of a sign outside the store: “Be Back Soon. We apologize that this location is out of Chicken Sandwiches.”

Gayle’s luck didn’t improve after calling 15 different Popeyes locations in New York.

“We also called FIFTEEN locations how do you run out of that sandwich on SUNDAY???!!!! May need therapy to recover,” she captioned the photo.

Harrison also helped his auntie call around New York in search of the coveted sandwich.

“FYI these are all the Popeyes locations I called for that damn sandiwich [sic] in case you didn’t think I did my due diligence,” he wrote on his Instagram stories.

According to PEOPLE, the Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich shortage is nationwide.
