Nicole Bus went from singing on Instagram to realizing her dream to be a recording star. The R&B artist with the huge sound appeared on NPR Music’s Tiny Desk on Tuesday. At 6’1” she made a big impression on the set of Tiny Desk.

Nicole began her set with the melodic “You,” before segueing into a new song about women’s empowerment, “Love It,” then closing with the uptempo “Mr. Big Shot,”.

Nicole Bus’ sound is reminiscent of vintage R&B, yet still feels current today. Born in the Netherlands and only 30, she was signed to Roc Nation in 2018. Her 2018 single “You” has earned more than 2.8 million views on her YouTube channel.
