“Freedom Rings” is very emotional for the 40-year-old R&B Diva. She recently opened up about working on the track with producer LaShawn Daniels, who died tragically in a car accident at age 41 earlier this month.

“And me and Lashawn will shine again!” she sings on the track.

Brandy celebrates the 25th anniversary of Brandy, which was released on September 27, 1994. The album was a critical success and introduced the Moesha star to a new audience of fans.

Brandy was certified four-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and sold over 2 million copies in the U.S.
