Meghan Markle is feeling vulnerable, sad and lonely as an outsider in UK’s royal family. The American-born Duchess of Sussex opened up about her vulnerabilities in an emotional interview with Britain’s ITV Network.

Meghan said she struggles as a new mom being in the media spotlight. Her friends have all but abandoned her as they focus on their own families, their exciting jobs and social interests.

Many women envy the Duchess, who is married to England’s charming Prince Harry, a 35-year-old Virgo, who is very protective of his wife.

Meghan, a 38-year-old Leo, recently gave birth to the couple’s first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, 5 months.

But underneath her happy exterior lies a woman who is broken, sad and desperately lonely.

When asked how being in the public eye has had an impact on her psychologically, Meghan hinted that she is suffering from postpartum depression.

“Look, any woman especially when they are pregnant you’re really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging, and then when you have a newborn – you know… And especially as a woman, it’s a lot.”

“Also thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I’m OK,” she said, fighting back tears. “But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

When asked if she was “struggling,” a visibly upset Meghan replied: “Yes,” according to London’s Daily Mail.

Meghan met Prince Harry through a mutual friend (tennis champ Serena Williams) at a party in London. The couple carried on a long distance love affair (she was in Canada working on the U.S. TV show, Suits).

After a 2 year whirlwind courtship, Harry popped the question and Meghan happily accepted. Their star-studded wedding was held on May 19, 2018 in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in London.

But a year later, reality has set in like an arctic blast of cold air.

Harry and Meghan are targets of the same British press that hounded Harry’s mom, Princess Diana.

Harry recently filed a lawsuit against a British media outlet for hacking his cell phone. And Meghan is suing a newspaper for publishing a private letter sent by her estranged father.

Friends say Meghan would be happier if she and Harry packed up their son and moved to Canada or Africa.

The couple recently returned from a 10-day tour of Africa during which the prince emotionally retraced his mother’s footsteps in an old Angola minefield 22 years after her death.

The site has been converted into a residential road, affectionately known among locals as Princess Diana Street.

The ITV exclusive interview airs on Sunday at 9 p.m. local time.
