Rae Sremmurd’s stepfather – who helped raise them – was shot and killed at his home in Mississippi. Floyd Sullivan, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene, TMZ reported.

Police took 19-year-old Michael Brown into custody as a person of interest in the shooting. Brown is a brother of Rae Sremmurd’s. He is being held for psychiatric evaluation.

The Lee County Medical Examiner tells TMZ the victim is the stepfather of Swae and Slim Jxmmi, the platinum-selling rap duo best known for their hit songs “No Type” and “Black Beatles.”

Sullivan raised the boys since they were in middle school, after they moved to Mississippi with their mother, Bernadette. Sullivan fathered a son, Floyd Jr, with Bernadette.
