A woman was tasered on a Spirit Airlines plane during a brawl over face masks. Video footage recorded by another passenger shows a woman in a striped shirt throwing punches at passengers who complained about her not wearing a mask.

The woman, later identified as Nyasy Veronique Payne, was tasered by police who boarded the plane after it landed in San Juan, Puerto Rico from Newark, New Jersey on Sunday.

Payne, who wore a mask under her chin, was traveling with a female companion who is seen in the video attempting to break up the fight.

“Stop! Stop! Calm down! she is heard screaming in the video. Payne is seen climbing on seats and swimming wildly at a man in a white T-shirt.

The other passengers described the male-identified lesbian as “aggressive, hostile and defiant” during the flight.

Payne was arrested and booked into jail, where she is being held on $150,000 bail.

Fights over face masks have become a common occurrence on domestic and international commercial flights amid the coronavirus outbreak.

All U.S. based airlines require passengers to wear face masks over their noses and mouths throughout the duration of the flight.
