Atlanta police released a sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with multiple carjackings and robberies of women in the Atlanta area.

Police are investigating at least four carjacking incidents involving the same man that began at the end of September.

The man’s latest victim, a woman who asked to remain anonymous, was punched and dragged from her car on Oct. 9, just after 4 p.m., outside the Dump, a furniture store in the affluent Buckhead neighborhood in northwest Atlanta.

The woman told 11Alive News she was sitting in her car near the store’s entrance after loading a rug. A Black man opened the back door and asked if she and her mom were picking up furniture.

The victim politely said no, but the man did something unexpected.

“He climbed in the car, shut the door, and I just knew, oh my God,” the victim told 11Alive.

The carjacker ordered her to drive off, threatening to kill her. But the victim was concerned for her 76-year-old mother in the passenger seat, so she resisted.

“My voice was shaky and I was like, ‘This is my mother’ and I’m like, ‘Get out of my car!'” she said. “Then he grabs me, starts pulling me over the center console, my mom starts hitting him on the back to let me go.”

The victim yelled for her mother to run inside the store to get help as she continued to struggle with the carjacker.

“He just throws a right hook into my left eye, just goes boom,” she said. The man dragged her out of the car and drove off.

Police located her car days later at the Summit Condos in Sandy Springs, where the man carjacked another driver and forced that victim to drive him to an ATM.

Police believe the same suspect carjacked three women and forced them to drive to an ATM.

The Buckhead victim told 11Alive she felt lucky because she was dragged from her car.

“I cannot imagine how these women feel about complying and having to drive to these ATM machines,” she said. “To be driving around and be scared to death for minutes upon minutes.”
