Clare Crawley opened up about her doomed relationship with Dale Moss. The couple met during season 16 of The Bachelorette in early 2020.

Filming was halted due to the coronavirus outbreak. Clare, who made history as the oldest “Bachelorette” at age 39, was already smitten by the 32-year-old former football player before she even met him in person.

The hairstylist confessed that she fell in love with the hunky athlete while staring at his dreamy bedroom eyes in photos on his Instagram account.

She was excited when filming resumed in June 2020. After less than two weeks of filming in July 2020, she broke off her relationships with the other 16 contestants and ran off with Dale.

A month into their whirlwind courtship, Clare accepted Dale’s marriage proposal in August 2020.

Then the dopamine faded and Dale lost interest in Clare.

Rumors that Dale cheated on Clare began circulating on the blogs when Dale was spotted enjoying a romantic “candlelit dinner” with a mystery woman at Cipriani Downtown in New York City in November 2020.

A source told Us Weekly that the woman was simply “a longtime friend” – a real estate broker who had been looking for an apartment for him and Clare in NYC.

Dale finally confirmed their breakup on January 19.

“I wanted [to] share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways,” he wrote on Instagram. “We appreciate the love and support we’ve received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time.”

Two days later, Clare broke her silence, saying she wasn’t on the same page as her former fiancé.

“I was made aware of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time you all were, so I’ve needed some time to really digest this,” she wrote on Thursday. “Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I am crushed. This was not what I expected or hoped for and am still trying to process this.”

Clare added that she was “looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel” after “battling severe anxiety post-show…”

She added: “Our relationship was not perfect. But I can say that I was genuinely invested with all of my heart. I may not have the answers, but I do know this — I will continue to show up, stand by my word and be committed to love.”
