Lark Vorhees is finally comfortable in her own skin (Video)

Former child star Lark Vorhies is 38 now, and finally she’s happy in her own skin. Why can’t we be happy for her?

Yesterday, the woman known to millions of Saved By The Bell fans as “Lisa Turtle” appeared on a segment of Yahoo’s The Yo Show hosted by the flamboyant Michael Yo.

Married with one child, Lark appeared to be relaxed and quite content after all these years living in the shadow of her perky TV character. Lark probably doesn’t care that her mature appearance has sparked such an uproar on social networks such as Twitter.com.

Did she have plastic surgery? Is she bleaching? Maybe. But shouldn’t her skin be lighter if she was bleaching? Does she wear a ton of makeup? Yes, but most women do because they fear they will be judged harshly if they don’t.

Yes, kids, stars get old. And some of them drop the pretenses of going through the motions of maintaining Hollywood’s standard of beauty.

Vogue Editor Anna Wintour Banned Kim Kardashian from MET Costume Gala

According to the NY Post‘s gossip column Page Six, Vogue editor-for-life, Anna Wintour, banned reality Tv star Kim Kardashian from attending her celebrity-studded MET Costume Gala on Monday. Good for her! At least somebody in the media has good taste and common sense.

Kardashian’s bestie, rapper Kanye West, attended the event solo, wearing a black tux but no Kim on his arm. This led many to guess correctly that their relationship is indeed just a publicity stunt.

Kim fueled the gossip even further when she tweeted: “So excited to see all the fashion going on in New York tonight at the MET!“– leading many to believe that she was attending — or at least standing across the street watching as the stars rolled up in their limos.

But nothing could be further from the truth: Kim was actually thousands of miles away — in L.A. So why would she lie about seeing the stars in their beautiful fashions? The answer is simple: Kim is a narcissist who lies about everything.

Beyonce, Jay Z, Mary J Blige attend L.A. and Erica Reid’s book launch

Beyonce Knowles and her husband, rap mogul Jay Z, attended Erica Reid’s book launch event Tuesday in New York City. Reid is married to former Deele group member, and record exec, L.A. Reid, who also hosted the event. Attending the event were singer Mary J Blige, Erica and L.A.’s daughter; Beyonce’s mother Tina, and Jane Miller, among others. Erica Reid’s book is titled ‘The Thriving Child’ and the party was held at private residence.

It’s good to see Jay Z showing affection for Beyonce in public — especially now that rumors have surfaced about him staying away from home for prolonged periods of time. My sources tell me that Beyonce is adjusting very well to being a single new mother. They say her postpartum depression has lifted somewhat. That’s good to hear.

Tami Roman tells judge “millions will suffer” if ‘Basketball Wives’ is taken off the air

“Basketball Wives” cast member Tami Roman is being sued by a hair care products company for a breach of contract. The 40-year-old mother of 2 went before a judge this week to stop the company from disrupting the show’s shooting schedule, because, as she put it “millions of people,” will “suffer” if the show is taken off the air.

Additionally, one company has already pulled ad spots from the scripted show as the result of a petition created by Alexis M., who objects to the fake violence that saturates the show every week.

In an update on Tuesday, Alexis M. reports that Summer’s Eve has agreed to pull their ads from both “Basketball Wives” and the spin-off show “Eve and Ocho,” which premieres in September.

Celebs Out & About: Beyonce, Rihanna

Beyonce won the unofficial Worst Dressed Award at the 2012 Metropolitan Museum Gala, themed “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” in NYC Monday night. Beyonce arrived wearing a long sleeve, black sheer Givenchy Couture frock adorned with purple and black feathers. She looked like a confused peacock. What was she thinking?? No, those aren’t gloves she’s wearing; that’s the sleeve of the gown which covered her hands. Instead of wearing black underneath the gown, she wore a nude colored Spandex which did not match her skin. Everyone is buzzing about how hideous Beyonce looked last night. She attempted to outdress everyone at the gala but she only ended up making herself look ridiculous!

Mainstream media angry at Obama for not mentioning MCA’s passing

The mainstream media is angry at President Obama this morning. Not because of the spiraling deficit or the lack of jobs production. They are angry that the president failed to mention the passing of Adam Yauch, also known as MCA, one third of the Beastie Boys who died of salivary gland cancer over the weekend.

I guess it doesn’t matter that the ones who are angry are mostly white, and they don’t really understand the complexities or the roots of hip hop anyway.

If they did understand, then they would know that the black community as a whole did not embrace the Beastie Boys in the 1980s like they did. Yes, the Beastie Boys introduced hip hop to a whole new audience — mainly drunk college frat boys.

And for that reason, Washington Times columnist Joseph Curl thinks the president should have at least mentioned MCA to the college kids he spoke with over the weekend.

“Make no mistake,” writes Curl, “MCA was no JayZ or Kanye West… Funny the ‘coolest president ever’ doesn’t say a word about the passing of MCA. Weird and kinda sad, actually.”

Well, not as sad as a race-baiting columnist expecting the president to recognize the passing of a star because he’s “half-white”.
