Actress Gabrielle Union, girlfriend of Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, says her man couldn't sleep the night before winning the NBA title Thursday.

He stayed at the gym until 1:30 a.m., working out with a trainer. Then he showered and went home, where Wade and Union watched game film from last year's loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Afterwards, around 4 a.m., they went to bed. But Union says Wade tossed and turned until 8 a.m., when he rolled out of bed and called his teammate LeBron James.

"What they wanted to do today, more than anything, was to play a complete game of basketball," Union told Sports Illustrated magazine.

She said the two best friends drew up a blueprint over the phone for game 5, detailing exactly how they were going to lead their team to victory.

It took 9 long years but LeBron James finally has his first ring!

The Miami Heat were the underdogs going into the NBA Finals series against Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. But the Thunder didn't have LeBron's steely determination or his fiery will to win.

"Happiest day of my life," said LeBron after the Heat defeated the Thunder 121-106 to win the NBA title Thursday night in Miami.

"It means everything," James said after the game. LeBron hoisted the NBA trophy before accepting his Finals MVP award. "I made a difficult decision to leave Cleveland but I understood what my future was about. I knew we had a bright future... This is a dream come true for me. This is definitely when it pays off."

After the game, an emotional LeBron embraced his fiancee Savannah Brinson and their children LeBron James Jr., 7, and Bryce Maximus James, 5.

The blazing hot Miami Heat have a date with destiny tonight in game 5 of the NBA Finals. And the hapless OKC Thunder have a flight to catch back home to Oklahoma City.

The Miami Heat, led by LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, are just one win away from the NBA championship.

The Heat have a commanding 3-1 lead over the Thunder in the best-of-seven series. LeBron, 27, and Dwyane Wade, 30, have experience (total 18 years combined), talent and destiny on their side.

The young upstart Kevin Durant, 23, has only been in the NBA for 5 years. The Thunder don't have an answer for the big 5: LeBron, D.Wade, Chris Bosh, Mario Chalmers and Shane Battier. And no other team has come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the NBA Finals since the NBA adopted the 2-3-2 format.

Sean Combs's eldest son, Justin Dior Combs, 18, graduated from a prestigious private high school yesterday in New York. Combs, aka Puff Daddy, couldn't be more proud of his first born's achievement.

While other parents frown at the news that Justin, an All-Star Senior prep athlete, was awarded a $54,000 scholarship to play football at UCLA in California, Combs shrugs off the criticism.

A classic narcissist, Combs believes that his son is entitled to everything in life -- even if it comes at the expense of others who are more deserving.

Justin wasn't exactly born with a golden spoon in his mouth when broke party promoter Puffy knocked up girlfriend, Misa Hylton-Brim. The golden spoon would come later.

Little Justin, who has restaurants named after him, soon lived the good life, with all the trappings of success, after Combs struck it rich with with his imprint Bad Boy Records.

An insecure man with rumored, shall we say, shortcomings, Sean Combs lives to brags about his riches.

And the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Bobbi Kristina will take part in a tribute to honor her mother Whitney Houston during the upcoming 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

The program, which airs Sunday at 8/7c, will feature a musical tribute, and Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina is scheduled to participate. As you know, Bobbi Kristina is working on an upcoming album and she will likely perform one of her mother's hit songs during the tribute.

Bobbi Kristina, who reportedly dropped her father's last name, will also appear in a reality show on Lifetime network featuring members of the Houston family including Whitney's mother Cissy Houston.

Whitney passed away on February 11 of a drug overdose and heart disease.

LeBron James Jr. may be youngest NBA exec in history, according to USA Today. The 7-year-old, nicknamed "Bron Bron" by his parents, was given a front office job with his dad's Miami Heat NBA franchise. The distinction was awarded with a court side seat in the NBA executives' section of the American Airlines Arena.

Junior was sitting court side when his dad, LeBron, accepted his Most Valuable Player trophy during the game 1 victory over the hapless Indiana Pacers in the 2nd round of the playoffs on Sunday. The youngster who turns 8 on October 6 looked snazzy in a tailored suit and tie. It still isn't clear what Bron Bron's title is (or his pay scale), but it probably involves a lot more than just pushing paper clips around his desk. Good for Bron Bron!

Last week People magazine named struggling singer Beyonce the most beautiful woman in the world, and now the person who is most criticized for stealing other writers' music wins a journalism award. Wtf?

Something called the 'New York Association of Black Journalists' recognized Beyonce for an article she probably didn't even write. That organization's credibility is now shot. All true journalists who have ever been recognized by this organization should return their awards in protest of this mockery!

From Page Six:

The superstar’s Essence magazine cover article, “Eat, Play Love,” won her first place in the Arts & Entertainment category of the New York Association of Black Journalists awards.

Beyoncé wrote about taking time away from the studio to enjoy the day-to-day pleasures of life.

“Simple things like play with my nephew, pick him up from school, visit museums, go to concerts, see some Broadway shows . . . and spend time with my husband,” she wrote.

Here are more pics from Beyonce's People magazine cover shoot. Beyonce looks stiff and plastic in the overly Photoshopped images. Beyonce is a far cry from the World’s Most Beautiful Woman in these images. In the cover story, Beyonce revealed she is filming a new movie, ‘A Star Is Born' later this year, after she performs a three-night stand at New Jersey’s Revel Resorts (May 25th, May 26th and May 27th). She is also recording the movie's soundtrack. Bey probably won't get to see much of her 3 month old daughter Blue Ivy. It's a good thing she has nannies.

After performing at TIME Magazine's insufferably boring 100 Most Influential people gala, Rihanna was spotted arriving back at her hotel wearing a cute lingerie outfit with a big red bow. Rihanna, 24, was seen heading out of her hotel wearing a fuschia dress on her way to attend the Time 100 gala in NYC tonight. Rihanna was named one of Time's 100 most influential people, despite the fact that she smokes marijuana trees, and drinks and cusses like a sailor. Clearly the Time editors don't count character or morals when they pick their honorees.

Rihanna's mother flew in from Barbados to attend the gala with her troubled daughter.

Actress Meryl Streep pulled an upset win over "The Help" star Viola Davis when she took home the Oscar for her role in "The Iron Lady," at this year's Academy Awards.

As a small consolation, Streep donated $20,000 in cash to 2 of Davis' favorite charities.

According to the Chicago Tribune:

The Oscar winner wrote a check for $10,000 to Upward Bound to honor Davis, the program's director Mariam Z. Boyajian confirmed to TheWrap.

Boyajian said it was the largest donation in the organization's history.

"I was writing to her when you called," Boyajian told TheWrap. "I wanted to give her a chance to settle down from the hectic weekend before I gave her the good news."

Streep followed up that donation with a separate $10,000 check to Segue Institute for Learning, according to the Providence Journal.

Both Davis and her sister Dolores Davis Grant attended Upward Bound, a federally funded program that prepares low-income high school students for college.
